This is kind of a mind blower. This is not to say that I am Alex Jones level of pro-gun rights.

Anyway, any opinions on this?

What makes that misguided?

Probably the fact that it has a message he disagrees with.

You can say that its poorly acted, has crappy music, and sets you up expecting to see a school shooting only to be 'disappointed' by the twist. But misguided? If it were misguided then that would mean the message of keeping firearms where kids can't just grab them and bring 'em to school or do other things with it is wrong and that it's perfectly okay to leave them where kids can easily get to them; and I'd have to question the sanity of anyone who thinks that.

"Steal your parents gun and hand it in to an agent of the government."

There's nothing misguided about that?

Fortunately those who aren't insane on the topic of firearms are not only not afraid of them but know correct usage and storage, and also know to teach their own kids correct usage and storage. Therefore those who aren't insane also aren't ruled by fear and therefore don't see the need to encourage kids to commit the crime that the kid in the video did.

The gun nuts who hate and fear anything even resembling a gun would encourage children to report their parents for having guns. There's nothing misguided about that?

No, there isn't, since that's clearly not the message.

Also, an 'agent of the government'? Yes, a public school teacher is state employed; but calling them 'agents of the government' makes it sound like you think this is 1776 and high school teachers are British spies.

Anyone who isn't afraid of guns is pretty much *not* someone who isn't insane on the topic. To understand guns requires you to have a healthy fear of them. Someone who doesn't fear guns doesn't think it necessary to handle and store them with safety in mind. Do not confuse fear for panic.

Therefore those who aren't insane also aren't ruled by fear and therefore don't see the need to encourage kids to commit the crime that the kid in the video did.

Circular reasoning much? "People who aren't insane aren't afraid of guns. Therefore, people who aren't insane aren't ruled by fear." That's what you literally just said.

If that's the message you took away from that video, then you clearly don't understand subtext and can only interpret things literally and only along lines that already mesh with your views. The video is obviously not targeted at kids and is not meant to encourage people to hand in firearms to the agents of King George.
