Watch This Trailer For The Anti-D&D Movie Dark Dungeons Or Satan Wins

"The mythos are all too real."

Does anyone refer to the god(s) they worship as the mythos?

Also, i always wondered about Marcie's suicide note. If she thought SHE was Black Leaf, and Black Leaf died (without a savings throw. Bitch of a DM) wouldn't that have made MARCIE'S suicide redundant?
And shouldn't she have signed the note Black Leaf?

What is this the dark ages?

Don't these primitive fucks know we're supposed to be afraid of video games now?

...but this can't be for serious, right?

Dependson what you mean. The producers are gamers.
But this is not meant as a satire of Dark Dungeons, The Comic.

The creators of Dark Dungeons, The Movie try to capture the feel of the comic. Including the outrageous claims.

Here's the FAQ: http://darkdungeonsthemovie.com/#updates

Frankly, the popularity of DDTC comes from the fact it pretty much lampoons itself. So satirizing the unintended satire would be...a flop.
Rather, they expand on the central theme. For the amusement of the gaming public.

The aforementioned FAQ has its tongue firmly in its cheek :slowclap:

How much money did Dark Dungeons the movie pay Jack Chick for the rights?

Jack Chick granted JR Ralls the right to make a movie based upon the Dark Dungeons comic book free of charge and without any request for a percentage of the film’s gross or net. There is no direct financial relationship between the film and Chick Publications, Inc.

How much control over the film does Jack Chick have?

Chick Publications Inc. gave JR Ralls one stipulation: that the film must include the message, ‘Story based on “Dark Dungeons” by Jack T. Chick, LLC© 1984’. JR intends to try his best to faithfully adapt the spirit and tone of the comic to the screen given the limitations in transplanting fiction between two media and in expanding a 22 panel comic into a film.

Is Dark Dungeons the Movie a satire?

NO! Satire is “a humorously exaggerated imitation.” The most classic example is Swift’s “A Modest Proposal”, in which he mocks the English aristocracy’s indifference to the rural Irish poor by suggesting they eat Irish babies. This was an exaggeration as the English did not actually hate the Irish enough to eat their babies. By contrast, Dark Dungeons the comic shows that RPGs can lead to suicide, joining a witches coven, and gaining real life magical powers and Dark Dungeons the movie shows exactly those same things as well. The film adaptation does not exaggerate or alter those claims. It is NOT a satire.
And then
How many zombies are there in Dark Dungeons the Movie?

As we are trying to staying as true to the comic as adaptation will allow, Dark Dungeons the movie takes place in a monozombistic world
