Paul Ryan finally affirms his consent, says he’s ‘ready and eager’

Last Friday the Freedom Caucus which supports immediate detention of all unpatriotic Americans wooed Representative Paul Ryan after the old Speaker, Boehner went flat. Rep Ryan answered only in silence which some conservatives jumped on as acceptance.

The climax came Thursday when the Tuesday Group of GOP moderates backed Ryan by acclamation in a morning meeting, then the conservative Republican Study Committee, announced its endorsement in the afternoon.

However, it was not until the end of the day Thursday, that Rep. Paul Ryan finally decided to stop teasing the Caucus, ending two weeks of drama and doubt about the Wisconsin Republican’s intentions.

He told colleagues in a letter, “after hearing soothing words of encouragement from the Caucus and watching some rather graphic videos, I believe we are now ready to move forward as a single, united team, one love, one heart, and one naked flesh drenched in bath oil.

"And I will be the voice of that new body. I will speak for the new body both before and after the money starts rolling in.”

Ryan is considered to be the most knowledgeable Republican in Congress about the budget and economics in general.

I can't think of any greater slander against the Republican Party's level of knowledge about the budget and economics in general than the statement above.

Along the same lines I heard it on CBS that maybe Ryan was enough kinder and gentler he could hold the Republicans together. I ask you how can any person who broadcasts the selfish message of Ayn Rand be considered kind. His idea of kindness toward those who are suffering in the economic meltdown...put them out of their misery.:rolleyes:

To be truthful, if they passed his budget, a lot more families would be spending much more time with each other.

We may not have enough shopping carts and cardboard and open dumpsters to support Ryan's plans for many of us...but we can try to get by just the same....TOGETHER.;)

What Paul Ryan is actually saying is, he is not going to hop on a plane Friday night to make it to a Saturday morning fund raiser in Omaha, then a lunch in Des Moine, a $5000 a plate dinner in St. Louis, followed by the midnight flight back to Washington.

Boehner was the the GOP bag man. Ryan doesn't have those connections or that kind of finesse.

Good point. That, however, brings in how ironic his other demand is. He demands that they won't be able to fire him if they hire him.

So he refuses to put in overtime for his position, or do the job his bosses require him to do.

Paul Ryan probably already has the support of the Kochs but now that he's to be speaker he will be exposed to a lot more lobbyists who are courting him.

The beer rule works differently for Republican congressman as they have to have sex with a page and then claim afterward it was because they were drunk.

Oh I think he is already exposed to plenty of lobbyists and is probably ecstatic at the possibilities of an Ayn Rand clone like himself at the helm of the House of Representatives, where he can strike a blow for superior people all over this country. I am sure he will be a champion of those who wish to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, free education, environmental laws, etc. Just what WE DON'T NEED IN THAT POSITION.

No, what I am saying is he is not a good political whore.

My interpretation is that his fund raising will benefit himself, not the Republican Committee.
