According to Sgt. Warren Pickard, Blac Youngsta's arrest came after a 911 call reported a man’s attempt to cash a forged check worth $24,000. Authorities claim they were given a “limited and conflicting” description of the suspect and his vehicle, which lead them to Youngsta and his entourage. Pickard added the rapper was only held “briefly,” and was released as soon as it became clear he had nothing to do with the complaint.
“It was quickly discovered that the person providing the description to police had provided the wrong description of the suspect,” Pickard wrote in an email. “It was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were not involved. They were immediately released.”
Pickard stated that the real suspect, 39-year-old Charles Darnell, was arrested and charged with first degree forgery after Youngsta was set free. “This incident did not directly involved Blac Youngsta, nor was he accused of committing a crime,” he said.
