Kaepernick collusion case proving that NFL teams viewed him as a starting quarterback

Just a quibble, but it's not proving, it's trying to prove collusion.

He was a mediocre quarterback who was declining who divided the team and upset fans. So not racism, but rather a decision against protest.

His stats weren't of a mediocre QB. I think it was a mistake to throw Alex Smith for Kaepernick because Kaepernick had just started out, but his stats indicate he is above average (better than Eli Manning who is likely heading to the Hall of Fame). What was mediocre... well actually terrible, was the 49'er defense that was losing the games.

Kaepernick could potentially have issues fighting into different types of offenses, but the truth is... he wasn't "mediocre".

He probably is mediocre elite now. The teams all barred him from practicing with them. It's very difficult when you are super elite to maintain super eliteness without being constantly challenged by other super elite peers [in contact sports anyway]. I mean, I don't think he can really bobby fisher a qb, defensive lineman and receiver so yeah...

I thought Eli Manning should have been benched earlier. But Colin was 1-11 or 1-12 as the start for the 49ers the last season and got beat out. He was okay, but for the circus he was going to bring to town and the divisiveness on the team he wasn't worth a team to pick up. Definitely on the level of the Tebow show, there are still people who gush over him though he was lucky to hit the same zip code as his receivers.

His record? The 49’er defense was dreadful. Kaepernick’s stats were not.

That is much more true and relevant.

Except there was more than the record. The 49ers had to simplify their offense with Kaepernick, maybe not as much as they did with Tebow. But if a team has a choice between 2 QBs and one has lower numbers but is better at a full offense, they will take the lower number.

Mediocre elite?? Just because a guy is big and fast doesn't make him an elite QB! His problem was his inaccuracy and inability to read defenses. He was really an upper end backup. The problem with backups though is that teams want a backup to be a team first guy. Not a political guy. You can't have a backup trying to outshine the star. It's not good for team morale.

Alex Smith is a pretty good QB. Not elite - but a starter all the way. He's pretty underrated...

That Kaepernick is a super-awesome quarterback is now more of a religious belief than anything.

People equate talent with ability. Kaepernick is an awesome athlete, but he couldn't throw outside the numbers. NFL QBs don't throw to a player, they throw to a spot where the receiver will be. Kaep couldn't make the those throws consistently. He ranked 30th over his three years in San Francisco in QB efficiency. And he wasn't great in reading defenses. Again, he is an upper end backup, but wanted starter's pay. Seattle was very interested in signing him. Seattle encourages political activism in their lockerroom. But they wound up signing a slightly less superior backup at 1/10th the cost, 1/100th the drama.

Seattle didn't want him because teh racism.

Amen.

Yep, racists through and through. Although the backup that they did sign, was ...... Black!
