Wow....xtianity is repulsive....

Steve Strang, the publisher of Christian “news” outlet Charisma, said in a Facebook video last night that Brett Kavanaugh belonged on the Supreme Court, that the allegations against him are lies, and that even if they were true it shouldn’t matter since sexual assault is just typical high school behavior.
“We have to vote the right kind of people in,” Strang continued, absurdly claiming that “the Democratic Party has gone so far left that it has alienated people like me.”
“What we see now with this controversy over Judge Kavanaugh, who is so very qualified, they could find nothing to keep him from being confirmed,” he added. “They will stop at nothing, including lying. Not only that, but some of the antics that have gone on; leader after leader after leader gets on there and talks about how bad Judge Kavanaugh is. He’s denied these things, but even if they’re true, it was pretty nickel-and-dime stuff that high school kids do. Everybody on that committee probably did that kind of stuff when they were teenagers. I mean, it’s just kind of part of growing up.

I am a man and when I was in high school I never grabbed any woman by her butt or breasts. I thought such immoral, tacky, and surely illegal.

This is truly remarkable. Whatever happened to their moral indignation at the sex lives of others?

It’s pretty much a ‘180’ since Bill Clinton’s presidency. When the Dems were more likely to overlook such behavior, and the conservatives acted like they couldn’t tolerate it at all.

Christianity has no problem with the right people raping the wrong people. Just look at the Bible--you can rape your enemies.

The only girls I had in bed in high school wanted to be there.

At any rate, as Ma Thump always took pains to explain, just because everyone else did it, that didn't mean I should too. This is the moral bankruptcy of America's Christian Right on display ... sadly, it's not really news.

I'm so glad I never really joined that stupid club.

Raised in a Lutheran school and church but it never took.

Isn't that just a reflection of what is considered "boys will be boys" culture? He talks as if this is a very normal rite of passage for every white teenage guy in the US! How do people, even today, not realize that this is criminal behavior??

Side note: White teenage guy tries to rape a woman, it is "boys will be boys". 60 years ago, a black teenager even looks at a white girl they could end up killed for it, probably by the same people who would consider rape "boys will be boys"

Rich white kids throwing keg parties in high school and assaulting girls is a rite of passage.

Poor kids and black kids doing the same thing or smoking pot should go to jail forever.

I love his use of "nickel and dime". I found Dr. Ford to be compelling and honest. She displayed raw trauma and she clearly knew who had terrified her. From this I conclude:
> Brett remembers it full well, himself. In his mind it was rough-housing, it was kid behavior; therefore how outrageous that a few minutes of horseplay can take away his life's biggest moment.
> The righties who insist that EVEN IF IT HAPPENED, it's no big deal, are now saying that multiple perjuries are fine, on top of wrestling a girl down on a bed. (But no mistake, Clinton still deserved impeachment in '98.)

Of course Bart remembers. He explicitly called out the girls of Holten Arms as "housebags" in his Beach Week letter. He's just spiteful and petty that she didn't let him rape her.

<snip>..they could find nothing to keep him from being confirmed,” he added. “
This little throwaway (to the original author) is also a great big lie, and just tossed out there as a matter of fact. There were already plenty of other things not related to his probable sexual assault that should have precluded him being on the bench. It got mostly ignored by the press, and completely ignored by the GOP.

Not the least of which is the fact that he had alllegations against him at all, allegations that came from credible sources, and which contained verifiable details. This should rightly being seen as something that does, in fact, constitute a reasonable doubt as to his worthiness, and I am of the opinion that any significant vertical transfer in society at the hands of government should only be enacted when certainty of the worthiness of that movement is assured.

To be elevated, one must be doubtless in their worth.
To be indicted, one must be doubtless in their guilt.

BK is not doubtless in his worth, ergo, he should not be elevated
