The Trump administration has got two "wins" in the Middle East.

Please explain? Trump seems to be a guy who can barely tie his shoes, let alone accomplish anything. In Syria and Turkey he was naive and got easily out maneuvered.

So what's the story here? I find it hard to believe that Trump is the reason things are going well here

Yea, he's far from a diplomatic genius! But his administration deserves some credit for a treaty between UAE and Israel. BTW: the press keeps calling this the first peace between an Arab country and Israel. Clearly is the far from truth. They've had a lasting peace with Jordan and Egypt.

That was one mess that turned out to be what Trump said he wanted. ISIS was running wild and Turkey wanted to destroy the Kurds. Trump wanted the Caliphate destroyed, wanted to protect the Kurds, and wanted U.S. troops out of the area. The Caliphate was destroyed with a combination of the Kurds, U.S., Syria, and Russia. A buffer zone between Syria and Turkey was established with Syria and Russia controlling the buffer between Turkey and the Kurds so the Kurds were protected from the Turks. The U.S. pulled the combat troops out. It seems that all Trump's goals were met. Although I doubt we will ever know all the political wangling that went on between the various parties involved.

Wasn't it Jared that accomplished this? Wasn't the accomplishment simply an agreement on how a map is drawn?
The last time I spoke to an Israeli about the middle east, he said, "Show me Palestine on a map! There is no such thing".
It's a step... a meaningful step in some ways... but really just a step. Credit given... but its not like he created peace... just a concession that Israelis are probably not too thrilled with... which I have no problem with either.

UAE promised to play nice and Israel promised not to grossly be in violation of UN rules regarding annexation. The gains of UAE and Morocco aren't exactly that compelling.

Hard to tell what is going on. Trump's success against Iran, China, the EU, and Canada have been almost non-existent.

I am more interested in what the Trump administration promised or gave to the UAE and to Israel. This is an achievement, but is the benefit worth the cost?

Or just view it as Realpolitik. Iran is a shared enemy. Iran funds Hamas.

Given the Trump's record with Iran, that is not a comforting thought.

Isn't there a prophecy about this? I mean, he clearly needs to have a deal with Isreal before he can betray them.

Trump has a steady hand on the tiller (metaphor that just occurred to me.) But remember, he has Jared at his side. Or had. Didn't Jared get busted at Subway for propositioning underage girls?
