California May Have a Random Celebrity Republican as Governor Soon

So another stick-it-to-the-libtards post by trausti.

Do you have a source for the above or have you been scammed by your lack of fact checking again?

That he makes the lefties this hysterical means we should support him; at least for the entertainment value.

I don't really care who wins, as long as Newsom is booted out. But this Elder character seems to have them all riled up. So far his campaign is the one you see the most. Possibly more than Newsom.

Let’s hope that the racists don’t stop California from electing it’s first black governor.

I thought Republicans were against identity politics. It shouldn’t matter what his race is, only that he should be the best qualified, right?

K. I won't vote for the recall.

What I don't like is this from the author's biography.

She is a recipient of the Sigma Delta Chi award for column writing, a graduate of Ohio University and a native of the long-suffering sports town of Cleveland.

Lebron gave Cleveland a championship.

This fake news has to end.

Why would electing an overt racist into the governor's mansion be an outcome that racists would wish to prevent?

Fun to see how right-wingers soil their pants in glee whenever they see a Black right-winger! (At the risk of seeming cynical, I note that being black and right-wing is a sure-fire path to success at places like FoxNews.)

Latest poll shows the top three candidates to be
* 49% Gavin Newsom (D), incumbent
* 19% Larry Elder (R), talk-show radio host
* 9% Kevin Paffrath (D), 29 yr-old YouTuber

Under the rules, this makes it a neck-and-neck race, Newsom v. Elder.

Wikipedia said:
[Larry Elder] calls for abolishing the IRS; passing a national sales tax, reducing government by 80%; ending welfare and entitlements, abolishing the minimum wage, and eliminating corporate taxes.

I just telephoned with my sister, who asked for advice. She's voting No of course, but misleading ads tell her that voting for any of the candidates will invalidate her No vote!

Both Elder and Paffrath seem like unusually poor choices to be Governor. (Amusing(?) how right-wingers are delighted to hear that "blue states" might get incompetent government.)

I'm not from California and I'm not sure what reason she has for expecting votes.

From what I can see Thread: Afghan "train, advise and assist" 1984 style
Agreed, with a tiny discrepency, everyone upon becoming the president of the USA is responsible for everything the US has done from its founding until today. My opinion is it is a great responsibility that can't be blamed on the previous or next dudehe's the trans version of Trump. No credentials other than name recognition. But that works in the modern American political system. Complete idiot, from the political point of view, but that doesn't matter if enough people vote from you. It's like voting people on or off The Island.

ETA ~added the bold for TFT rules purposes~

"He" was in reference to Larry Elder, who as far as I know self-identifies as male. So you are, in fact, violating TFTs rules with your bolded term.

No, actually it wasn't.
Tom

Ah.... newbie Tom will henceforth tell us what each of us refers to.
:rolleyes:

That is pitiful.

Odd, I’ve never seen any such ads. Was this on tv, radio, press or something?

The only misleading ads I’ve seen (and by misleading I mean outright lies) comes from Newsom.

Looking through the three pages of candidates, most of them have no actual experience. That's the beauty of the system.
What is remotely beautiful about that? I will never understand why Republicans think plucky cluelessness will somehow save us all from tyranny. Historically, dictators have often, even predictably come from "outside the system", not from rising slowly up the ranks.

But I guess if you all read your history books, you wouldn't be Republicans to begin with.

But you have to understand plenty of backroom deals were made for that outsider to advance before going anywhere.

Regardless of how this vote turns out, you do have to admit that the current management of California sucks in a most horrible way right now. It is in the national news that even someone like myself from Missouri can notice it is not without merit that this recall is taking place. As we speak, long term business are picking up and moving from California to Florida and Texas. And the California population is declining too, for its first time in history mostly due to homelessness and the high cost of living. In case you can not figure this out...this is bad.

And whether you want to admit or not, the ultra high cost of living the average Californian can no longer afford were caused by liberalism. Meaning the best cure is to be less liberal, although I have no idea about the other choices. But they could probably not be any worse than what is now in place.

Luckily for those business, Texas and Florida are being managed by their governors swimmingly right now.

Here's what you don't seem to understand. It's basic economics.

California culture(liberalism) made it an attractive place to live. Capitalism made that attractive place to live expensive, because that's what capitalism does. Liberals made California living an attractive commodity. Capitalism made getting that commodity expensive.

You seem to think that liberalism made California expensive, when it just made California "worth the money", that capitalism expects to gain.

That's probably the most on-point and straightforward breakdown of california's economy I have ever seen.
