It has happened, it is now a thing. The clock struck, and Britain became the last part of the British Empire to finally declare its independence.

Right now there is massive chaos and disorder in England. Riots, mayhem, death, destruction, the economy there has collapsed entirely, and all civil power structures have disintegrated. Except that didn't happen.
 
And I understand if Trump is elected, there’ll be a global downturn and markets will collapse. Any day now.
 
I think it’s a shame that the UK has left the EU. I always felt the advantages outweighed any perceived disadvantages. Good luck to them, hope it works out to the good.
 
Nothing much has happened yet. The British MEPs no longer sit in the European Parliament; But apart from that, all changes are on hold until the last day of 2020.

The UK now has eleven months to negotiate and ratify trade deals, something it has completely failed to do in the last four years.

Today, the shit was finally and irrevocably launched towards the fan. It won't hit until December 31, 2020.

I really do like that line, but Australia hasn't shed itself of Britain yet--we are not a republic or a democracy but a constitutional monarchy, and our monarch is the Queen of Australia...who does that part time, because she's also the full time Queen of Britain.

Thank you. I was going to ask if Brexit "happened" how was the Northern Ireland issue fixed and how well did Scotland take the news? I mean if both issues were resolved I think there would have been a passing mention of it. At the moment, Brexit is about as practical as the Peoples' Front of Judea pledging to fight for Stans' Lorettas' right to have babies.

Of course it hasn't happened, because everything that was in place will still be in place for at least another 11 months. Wait until the Brits find out they're getting lousy terms in trade agreements.

And it was pretty hilarious to see pro-Brexiteers celebrating the event by drinking beverages brewed in Europe.

I talked to a British friend the other day and his reason for voting for Brexit was, "We don't want a German woman telling us what to do." I said, "Don't you have to pay extra for that sort of thing?"

He didn't think it was at all funny.

I would suggest The Untied Kingdom. Cheaper to update the stationary.
Then Wales, Sctland, and Ireland form Gaelic Britain, and get a lot od suplus stamps and letterheads the UK won't need anymore.

Probably yes, but not according to the doom predictions of the Remainers.

Then again, based on the doom predictions of the Remainers, given that there will be a complete societal and economic collapse in the near future why would European firms want to do business with the next Somalia?

It still has Northern Ireland and Wales united with England.

But since Scotland can't convince her own people to leave, I think the UK is safe for a while yet.

Considering the issue with working visas isn't even remotely resolved, I don't think it is possible for anyone to give you a straight answer. The only thing I can safely say is if your business is in IT or Health Services, you're probably fucked. It's accurate to say the amount of applications for non-PBS (points based system) visas will skyrocket also. Good luck with fuckwits like Farage being sanguine about it all.
 
According to the Brexiteers, English GDP should have already doubled and all the troubles in the NHS would disappear.

Yes, Scotland voted to remain in the EU. No, voting for the SNP is not evidence that the majority of Scotland wants to leave the UK.

The vast majority of opinion polls conducted in Scotland since 2014 show more support for Scotland to 'remain' in the UK than to leave. (the latest poll reported on the page above shows a 'leave' opinion has narrowly prevailed in January 2020 and August 2019.)

If Scotland wants to leave the UK she has every right to take it to a referendum, like the 2014 one.
