Russian Invasion of Ukraine - tactics and logistics

Just guessing, but it probably sucks to be Pootey right now.

Putin thinks it sucks to be Putin as much as Trump thinks it sucks to be Trump. I'm only saying this because they seemed to get along so well, and it's not because the countries they were leading at the time had much in common.
People like Hitler and Putin and Trump do not change. They are simply, eventually rendered meaningless.

Tomorrow is April 30. On this date in 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bunker.
Say what you like about Adolf Hitler, but don't forget that despite half of the world trying and failing for more than five years, it was Hitler, in person, who finally succeeded in killing the man responsible for the outbreak of World War II in Europe. I don't think he gets enough credit for this.

Perhaps we could persuade Putin to make a similarly impressive example of the man who was responsible for Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Someone has made a start on it a couple of months ago.

For millionth time. Neither Crimea nor Eastern Ukraine has any business being in Ukraine. No business at all. It's all Russia. There is nothing Ukrainian about them.
In fact the whole Ukraine with the exception of former Poland is Russia too.
Wait, I thought it was about Nazis. No one is going to believe you if you keep bullshitting about the reasons for invasion.

Well it's about the whole Ukraine being Russia. And liberating it from the Nazis. And NATO. And...

Doppelt gemoppelt hält besser.

Nice of you to try to help barbos salvage some cred, but I’m afraid that’s a lost cause.
Throwing stuff at the wall only works if some of it sticks. Ain’t happening.

So the guy in the photo at top right is Valery Gerasimov.

He was sent to Ukraine to "secure victory." He is the General behind what has been called the "Gerasimov Doctrine," and sending him over is the equivalent of sending one of the US Joint Chiefs to take personal command of a battle. This is the "shit just got real" moment. Things are going so badly for the Russians that they sent one of their top generals to sort things out. It would be a huge win for Ukraine and a huge loss for Russia if this guy were to fail.

It didn't go well...

Valery Gerasimov, the chief of staff of the Russian army, was today wounded in Izyum in Ukraine's Kharviv region, which has been at the centre of intense fighting since Russia's invasion.

Putin had sent Gerasimov to the region to take personal control of his push to grab territory in eastern Ukraine, after the Russian army abandoned its plans to take Kyiv at the end of March in favour of a concentrated assault on the Donbas region of Donetsk and Luhansk.

...Gerasimov's injury was severe enough to have him flown away from the frontlines and back to Russia to undergo further treatment, marking another embarrassing defeat for Putin's forces.

Russian forces are hunting down .... ukrainian railroad transformer stations to prevent western military crap from reaching destination.
Some said they are easily replaceable. But then ukrainian news reported they were running out of parts. I personally doubt the logic behind it. Nothing prevents nazi forces from using diesel powered trains, destroying railroads itself makes more sense to me.

Also there was ukrainian fake about wheat being shipped from Eastern Ukraine to Russia to cause famine. Turned out it was ukrainian fake. But then Ukrainian Führer announced great victory for Ukraine when EU lifted all tariffs and limits on .... agricultural products from Ukraine :facepalm2:

Never ever trust any nation directly involved in a war. They're all lying. It makes sense. The goal of a war isn't to kill all your enemies. It's to make them believe resistance is futile.

The first country that experimented with honest reporting during a war was USA in the Vietnam war. No country will ever repeat that mistake again.

Well, the West is directly involved in this war, they started it, send their mercenaries and weapons.
And there are differences, russian and soviets before that government rarely lie, they prefer suppressing information. Whereas the West prefers flat out, Goebbels style lies. Ukrainians are trying to outdo the West in their lying.

We prefer “special logistic operation”.

I thought we were sending Nazis. Make your fucking mind up.
And what the fuck do you care if we sent Nazis? By your own admission you think half the country doesn't deserve to exist - might as well fill it with Nazis.

Our resident Putin fanboy is mightily confused. Today is (checks calendar) May 2nd. Day after May Day.

The current Russian invasion - sorry - "Special Military Operation" began on February 24th and was supposed to be wrapped up by the end of February.

By today, there was supposed to be a "great patriotic government" installed in Kyiv, the "Nazis" were supposed to be utterly defeated, and Ukraine, Belarus, and apparently Moldova were all supposed to be sitting around a campfire singing the Russian version of Kumbaya while feckless NATO cowered at the threat of glorious Russian military.

Apparently it's going to take Barbos some time to process all of this epic failure.

Well, you keep sending supplies to nazis, obviously, it's gonna take more time.
