January 6 Hearings Live

Monday's hearings will interview high ranking officials fired by Trump for failing to back up his efforts to steal the election. What Trump was demanding from important officials who refused to go along with questionable and illegal demands. This should be rather interesting. Again, this is about Trump's intentions.
Ivanka? She was in way over head and did not have sense to walk away when that was the wise decision to make. Ivanka is screwed.

The real, live flesh and blood Ivanka who fell in with a bad crowd and paid no attention to wiser people who commented on just how legally questionable the Trump administration was acting. This won't have a happy ending. On the positive side of things this will probably end any political ambitions Ivanka might be thinking of pursuing.

So now Trump’s popularity has gone up. Americans have moved on from 1/6. A majority now think he had no real role in the events. Pathetic. But typical. The public is now focused on gas prices and inflation. The hearings are old news.

I wonder if Canada will take in a 70 year old American political refugee. I hear up there everybody has heath care.
Yeah, I'm worried about what's going to become of America. If the Republicans get power it's palace coup time.

Just heard that Geraldo Rivera was on Brian Kilmeade's radio program and started agreeing with the finding of the J6 committee and the show immediately cut him off and went to commercial.

Not allowed to buck the narrative.

And you get banned from His Flatulence's garbage for talking about it.

"Truth" my ass...

Perhaps she had never realized until daddy came under so much intense scrutiny and he was given so much actual power what an absolute monster he is.
Clinging to an abusive guardian is a tried and true survival strategy. And you can bet she has money on her mind. I think that's the whole of it.

Like speech and other social skills there are windows in brain development where these skills are either implanted and nurtured to fruition or are lost forever.

LiesSocial - DeceitSocial - TrashSocial - GriftSocial - Lots of good names out there for this platform.

Jared Kushner came off as a snobbish twat when asked about White House legal staff resigning on masse, he said “I thiught they were just whining”.

Today's hearing isn't as exciting as the first one, but basically, it's making the case that just about every single advisor of Trump's, told him repeatedly, that he lost the election. I don't know if Trump has been lying or if he's really delusional enough to believe that he won. I'm saying this as one who cared for many severely mentally ill people.

One was known as "the Queen". She honestly believed she was a queen with billions of dollars and a "castle palace" in New York City. She also believed that she was once married to Elvis, among other marriages to famous people. She was obviously seriously mentally ill and delusional.

At this point, I do wonder if Trump is seriously delusional as well. In any case, he's certainly unfit to hold any important position. It still amazes me that so many Americans were so easily swept into his dangerous cult, and so many Republicans continue to believe the election was stolen from Trump. 🤯

Not buying it.
Trump may be insane, but he knew goddam well that he lost. He scrounged around for someone - anyone - who would go along with his denial, and found them in the dingy corners of the dark web’s conspiracy theorists. That was sufficient to launch a fleecing campaign that fraudulently gathered hundreds of millions of dollars. Cheato’s eyes were, and remain, wide open.

This second hearing established that the election was not stolen and Trump was repeatedly told that fact by credible people. Since Trump could not make that case he started scheming to overturn the election. And this all set the stage for the January 6 riots. And a lot of grifting on top of it all for some $250 million dollars.

Become? His entire presidency was one massive denial... of which you were personally responsible for helping cover one of them up.

I think he knew exactly what he was doing. Remember when he told the reporter who wrote the book about Trump and Covid virus that the virus was very dangerous. The opoosite of what he was telling the public. Same thing. And he knew his followers would slurp it right up.

The only 'detachment from reality' that I think Trump suffered is that he thought he could get away with it. Oh, and the 'detachment from reality' indulged in by his supporters. Or 'supporters.' There were a lot of people who could not stomach Hilary Clinton and voted for Trump for that reason, with at least some of them never dreaming he'd actually be elected. Of course there are the delusional true believers, who believe in Trump because he gives voice to their own deeply held prejudices and bigotry, some of which centers around Clinton but mostly centered around social conservatism and a belief in 'self-reliance' and 'small government.' Quotes because, my observation of old friends and family members who are 'conservatives' is that they genuinely believe in all of that small government/individuality/self-reliance except when it comes to their own needs. Mind you, almost all of them are quick to genuinely step in and offer a lot of help for those in need, especially if it's someone they know is also a conservative or otherwise part of their tribe. I grew up in farm country and I saw up close and personal how other farmers would immediately rush to help out a fellow who was injured, sick, had broken equipment, or there was some other emergency. Also very quick to help out strangers with broken down vehicles, etc. And virtually all of them were as generous and open hearted with strangers, including strangers from other groups ( you know: black people, city folk, Jews, Mexicans, etc.) on an individual basis, regardless of how they saw 'those people' when individuals were not standing right before them.

I'm sorry but everyone here is discussing this as if there are reasons for Trump's behavior that are excusable and we should look for these reasons, be good people, be compassionate, try to help.

There were never enough people on Orange's side to ever win him any office. He won not because he was popular but because there are a lot of people around with the same demagogic, sociopathic tendencies. It's somewhat refreshing to know that he never won the popular vote, that america rejected him, that he only won because we've had to historically compromise with the same type of people. That's basically it.

This is all it is. Orange is a liar and a cheater that tells other liars and cheaters what they want to hear. And those people will use him depending on how far their conscience will let them, same as he does them. Otherwise Orange would be screaming at people from a sidewalk with his message because he truly is mentally ill. He's a conniving, emotional person who connects with same, but sure isn't mentally ill. He's obviously intellectually challenged but he isn't mentally ill.
