They don’t air any of my team’s games so …
 
The Dodgers clinch the NL West at a canter. At times the Dodgers have absolutely crushed other teams and it can be a bit boring to watch these terribly one sided games. The Angels fail to make the playoff yet again.

Some Dodgers games be like;

 
Dodgers are on pace to win 112 games, a franchise record. For a while, they had a good shot at beating the mlb record of 116, but they'd now have to go 15-2 just to tie it, and they will and should be giving their stars a break for the remainder.

They have a great top of the order, probably one of the best trios ever. Looking at the rest of the lineup, and how they field all these sub .200 players everyday, makes their success even more impressive.

And yet, they are very vulnerable in the postseason imo because of the lack of a knockout closer. They have a subpar record in extra innings and in one-run games. They will have to rely on putting up a lot of runs, a shaky plan. The Mets with their great closer Diaz would be a challenge.
 
Kershaw was on fire last night but is notoriously shaky in the post season. Kimbrel is a liability. He has frequently loaded the bases as he did last night, hitting two consecutive batters. Saved again by some solid defensive work.
 
I was sad to see Dodger great Maury Wills died earlier this week. Graceful in the field and dangerous on the bases, he helped spark the offense.
 
So the Guardians were in a nail-biter in the AL Central. And with 10 or so games left, they clinched the AL Central. Presumably this is the first time a new team has made the playoffs one their first try. ;)
 
FFS, again, Kimbrel loads the bases, two out and walked in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth, Padres win 4-3. He is a liability.
 
I'm guessing Dodgers will be doing closer by committee, no one stands out enough. I do like some of the young arms like Almonte, but hard to trust them in that position.

Braves sweep Mets, Diaz never got the chance to close, while Jansen closed out all 3 games with no runs 1 hit combined. Braves overtake Mets and about lock up the division, saving them from Wild Card round. Dodgers might have to play the Mets in the division series. Braves may even be tougher though, they're loaded with sluggers.
 
Angels pitcher/DH Ohtani has had an outstanding season and was on the way to a no hitter with two out on the eighth. Alas, it was not to be. He is such a good player and glad he signed a one year extension with the Angels.
 
Awful playoff system starts today. Congrats Guardians, you have a best of three series in three days for winning the AL Central. Weather will be abnormally normal with highs in the 50s and meh, wind gusts to the 20s. Would have been nicer last few Octobers.

Alonso's walkup is almost making me root for NY.

At least it's not a one gamer like before. What bothers me about the new system is they don't reseed after rounds, so Dodgers could be playing a higher seed than the Braves who finished 10 games worse.
