    Hillary Clinton Reemerges

NY doesn't really matter, does it? Kind of like CA. They aren't in any danger of turning red. We really need to end the EC farce. It's just not even remotely demcratic. Small pockets of the country are going to get massive attention this Fall. Great swathes of the country will be ignored...

Well, we don't know, do we? He won't release his tax returns.

    Super Tuesday Is Upon Us!

Biden's campaign was running on fumes last week. No money, no presence on the ground in CA or many other large ST states. And no real vision of why he's running to inspire voters, other than a claim to be able to unseat Trump. Much like Clinton in 2016. What happened was the DNC got alarmed...

    Super Tuesday Is Upon Us!

That's not going to sound at all convincing given the fact that Biden has been tracking a few points lower against Trump than Sanders, both nationally and in rust belt states, and has bet on the smaller minority voting block over the larger, and concentrated more in states he can't win. I...

    Hillary Clinton Reemerges

I assumed from the thread title this was a verdict on the Super Tuesday vote. Part of the reason I was wanting Sanders to win was the thought of the Clintons having to either endorse him or try to figure out a convincing reason not to.

    Super Tuesday Is Upon Us!

Was going to vote for Biden in November, if I had to, but after hearing him tonight, talk yet again about how he's the real Democrat, and by implication, those who support Sanders aren't, well he can GFH. This is the guy who killed an amendment to end price gouging for prescription drugs...

    Who should I vote for?

Also good at getting well paid gigs for family members. Let's hope that now he is a shoo-in, he figures out a platform to run on, and when he does, he can appeal to all the undecideds with no recollection of him being a key part of the administration that ignored or did next to nothing about...

US Nonvoters: half the adult population

Or because the polling station is a fair distance away, or because there are long lines to vote and they don't have the time to stand around for 3-4 hours or more, or because they work 2 or 3 jobs and don't have the time, or because they are poor and rural and lack the documentation required to...

    Super Tuesday Is Upon Us!

So SC appears to be the DNC's slingshot manoeuver (see Talledegah Nights). It's a clever play. Have the party hierarchy endorse the favored status quo candidate, knowing the SC voters are likely going to fall in line. Then on the back of a strong win, you get a 3-day media boost, from all the...

For the first time, there are fewer registered Republicans than independents

Report in today's UK Guardian that Republicans have closed 700+ polling stations in Texas since 2012, mostly in minority/poor districts. And of course we have Kemp in Georgia proudly erasing half a million from the voter rolls and very pleased about it too, and my home state Florida defying the...

    Who should I vote for?

I don't see a moderate/progressive ticket quite honestly. It didn't happen in 2016, nor was there any push for it from the media. But if a progressive is the top of the ticket in 2020, you'll get a sustained clamor from the media to see a moderate attached. It will be very loud indeed, and very...

    Super Tuesday Is Upon Us!

I'm anticipating a much narrower lead for Sanders than looked likely a week ago, before SC, and an increased likelihood of nobody winning the primary outright. The five-thiryeight model, adjusted around SC result and anticipated bounce, projected around 1600 delegates for Sanders and 1440 for...

    Who should I vote for?

If the choice is between someone from the moderate wing who won't fight for these things and haven't delivered them in the past (indeed, takes money given to ensure they won't fight), and someone who will fight for them but can't possibly deliver them, then what hope is there for the millions of...

AS DEFICIT EXPLODES, GOP DEMANDS EMERGENCY TAX CUT FOR THE RICH

To misquote Homer, Donuts Tax Cuts, is there anything they don't solve? I'm willing to believe they would deflect a meteor at this point. Or possibly not. But we won't know until we try.

    Who should I vote for?

If state level primary polls are to be believed, likely only Sanders, Biden and Bloomberg will be left standing after Tuesday. I think the difference between Biden and Sanders can best be summed up as a vote for Biden would be a return to the trajectory of the Obama years, and a vote for...

    Who should I vote for?

What would be the most important issues to you when deciding who to vote for? IMHO, trying to triangulate around who best beats Trump is a fools errand. Last time around, Hillary Clinton was a lock to beat him. I read little to nothing into head to head national polls right now.

    Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

John Oliver is a lot less funny discussing the Coronavirus when you’ve just found out it’s arrived in a neighboring county (Hillsborough)

    Democrats 2020

I think he could have stayed in and continued to announce winning in states before the vote counts proved otherwise. It’s hard to slow that kind of momentum.

    Democrats 2020

Surely if Pete is quitting now, it’s less about how he did in SC and more about how he’s polling in the Super Tuesday states? I’ve not seen him ahead in any of them. But regarding black voters, the narrative around his issues as mayor may have hurt him with more than just black voters.

    Democrats 2020

I wonder if Pete will endorse Biden prior to Tuesday or just sit it out? Some polling I’ve seen referenced suggests his base would likely split fairly evenly between the other candidates, not sure how much stock I put in that.
