10 ways white people are more racist than they realize

While I agree that America is very racist, I disagree we are considerably more racist than most countries. While exceptions exist, I think America frankly confronts our racism problem more so than other countries. Indeed, there are countries where racism is considered the norm, and is not even widely challenged.

What is remarkable, is that despite all our efforts, the racism persists.

Fuck, I never really meant to pull the Israel BS into this. The American Jews that I've met have always impressed me -- their culture of hard work is admirable. That is all. Don't read anymore into it than that. Maybe I saw only the good ones -- who knows. Surely, it's not racist of me to say that I like a particular culture?

#5 is definitely true, especially in a retail setting.

My point is that we seem to have a constant drum beat of "White = racist and evil" on this board. And when anybody tries to suggest that this isn't inherent to having white skin, and this is something basic to human nature and something we all should be on guard for, no matter our race, you get resistance and people saying "black people can't be racist" or some garbage like that.

Black women. That one isn't difficult. Simply put, black women also get crap from black men, but I can't think of a single black woman who was hateful towards black men.

This boils down to basic tribalism. People have more empathy for those they can personally relate, and that applies to race as much as anything, especially when people like yourself keep pushing and pushing and pushing race.
