440 less suicide bombers to worry about!

When you look into th abyss long enough, the abyss look back at you.

When enjoying the obliteration we are no better than them.

I don't know. ISIS are terrible people who live up to their negative press. It's not like they're going to lay down their arms after being presented with reasoned and logical arguments, so it's pretty damn good when they just fucking die.

Their deaths are a win for humanity and there's nothing wrong with enjoying wins.

They are doing this because they believe it is s good thing to do. They are not risking their lives to be evil.

I agree. I think most people in ISIS are certifiable waste of genetic material. If it was not ISIS they would have found another way to be assholes.
Until medical science find a way to correct whatever genetic abnormalities they have we should use other means to weed out undesirable traits.

Each of these people were individuals.

Who knows what was in the heart of any of them? Who knows what brought them to that place?

Who knows how many were medical personnel or other noncombatants?

Just pawns caught up in insanity anyway.

Nothing for any decent human being to be happy about.

My thread was kinda tonge in cheek. But Jihadist medical personnel? You've got to be kidding? What would their role be? To catch the heads after they are chopped off to prevent the spreading of germs?

To dehumanize these people is understandable.

It is what those wanting to kill people they have never met do.

Buddy, they don't need my help in dehumanizing themselves!! When you deliberately target and blow up civilians, you're not human.

These people that were killed did that?

And even a suicide bomber is a human.

They have a story and some reason for their madness.

What are you trying to say? How should we deal with them?

They are an international problem.

A problem for the UN.

But not a problem for the SC with the contributors to the problem having a veto.

Countries the West have armed, such as Saudi Arabia, which has 700 war planes and a whole arsenal of modern weaponry, should be involved as it is in its area. However it has done nothing. The Western allies created a vacuum for ISIS and Al Qaeda to flourish.

If there is tea there is time. See. We can all bloviate without saying anything.

A man, thirteen, believes what he is told in religious fervor and then given a gun. You decide. Is this man told to do good things?

Now that's more like what is happening on the other side of the world where we have stationed bands of brothers to do battle.

Believe what you must. But, if you must, you must contribute.

The boy is told his people are at war.

And he joins happily.

Even in the US.

Well said

Ya, so were the Nazis. Not wanting to Godwin the thread here, but pretty much everyone thinks that they're the good guy, no matter how evil their actions might be.

ISIS fighters think that theirs is a noble cause worth fighting and dying for and see themselves as heroes, not as villains, and are committing all of their atrocities because they feel it's right to do so. That doesn't stop them from being stupidly wrong on this point or from making the world a brighter and happier place by leaving it.

We say 'less' of ONE thing, 'fewer' of MANY. Pity to reduce the language's subtleties all the time.

What garbage. They target civilians and anyone else who doesn't believe exactly as they do for death. We do not.

What could the UN do? Protesting isn't going to stop any beheadings.

What did the US do in Vietnam and Cambodia and Laos?

It targeted and bombed millions of civilians because the people wouldn't do what the US wanted them to do.

What did it do in Nicaragua with a proxy army?

It targeted and killed civilians because they wouldn't do what the master demanded.

The US has been killing civilians who wouldn't follow the US religion for a while.

There is way too much blood on the hands of the US government for anybody to say it is a force for good.

The lies they have told themselves have no relevance. What matters is the consequences of their actions, and thus the very positive consequences of their deaths.

We don't delibertly target civilians. Period. You and I have been arguing this for 10 years. I respect your general positions. But I'm done arguing this point. I'm going to ignore any more comments trying to equate deliberte targeting of civilians (terrorists) with accidently killing civilians.

I'm sure that consoles the families of the collaterally civilian dead.

Their deaths are no positive consequence.
And who knows what new forces of hatred you awakens when killing these.

We most certainly do target civilians and have killed millions.

Kissinger's order for the bombing of Cambodia was to kill "anything that flies on everything that moves". No clearer order for genocide has ever been given.

ISIS has a long way to go to equal US crimes.

Their deaths are the neccessary consequence to prevent the many deaths of innocent people they would have caused had they continued to live. So, for any decent person who thinks that preventing the murder of many innocent people is positive, then the deaths of these murderers is positive.

Only people already filled with murderous hate would seek to avenge their deaths. So, killing them won't unleash anything that isn't already unleashed, whereas not killing them would be certain to lead to many deaths of others.

The net amount of violence and killing (especially of those not seeking to kill others) has been reduced by their deaths. This is the basic fact that the cowardly selfishness of dogmatic pacifism ignores.
