440 less suicide bombers to worry about!

ISIS has never been on the side of Saudi Arabia, so they cannot turn on them since they are already against them. Although they are very similar ideologically, the differ on one very crucial aspect and that is the legitimacy of the monarchy. While I am sure The Kingdom is loathe to spend any money at all, especially killing fellow Salafists - since the royal family has a very tenuous alliance with clerics that share almost identical interpretations - they sure as hell know that those groups are the biggest danger to the control of their kingdom.

I didn't say they are in alliance, just similar attitudes. By turn on them, I mean send in bombers and try to attack its borders.

In another forgotten war; Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been involved in the fighting. I am sure the UAE casualties are more than 100 based on the local newspaper which published the photos of those killed.

Oh yeah, that's quite the clusterfuck, and in Arabia proper.

The elements who formed ISIS, were not able to operate so easily because of a strong police and army presence in these dictatorships. Now once that presence was destroyed, Al Qaeda, other groups and then later ISIS simply took over vast tracts of territory. Before the invasions, this problem did not exist.

I think you will find that the police and military people under Sadaam became ISIS and Al Qaeda in Iraq on occasions.

Ironic and yet totally predictable

Well these people were trained in the military and in administration. The Americans came in and started shooting anyone whether they posed a threat or not (according to Chris Kyle) and threw out the old regime. Naturally those from the old regime resisted a bunch of terrorists invading Iraq.
Then the Americans put in place a sectarian government that brutally crushed peaceful demonstrations. Of course these people joined and ran the resistance movements.

One of the reasons ISIS was able to be so organised.

If your Country were occupied by foreigners and governed by fanatics, you would probably fight for anyone who was against the mess.

It's simpler than that.

When a terrorist nation invades your country and destroys civil society and does things that leads to widespread violence you must struggle just to survive and joining some militia or group of thugs at least gets you food and some protection.

The Americans should have learnt from its British poodle in its colonial days. When taking over a country use its own army to retain or restore power. Just replace key leaders. When the US started to fire soldiers and civil servants from their jobs (and anyone else who held a Ba'ath party membership) it created unemployed and disgruntlement. I understand some of the Military officers joined ISIS. Others I am sure followed suit in the vacuum created.

In a similar situation we would call our forces resistance movements.
