Coast Guard officer wanted to kill Democrats, TV hosts, say prosecutors
A U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant working in the nation's capital lived a secret life as a "domestic terrorist" who aspired to mass murder and compiled a target list of prominent politicians and journalists, federal prosecutors allege in court papers.
He read Anders Breivik's manifesto, and he has read a lot of pro-Russian, pro-fascist, and pro-Nazi literature.
Prosecutors say the list included designations they believe referred to Democratic Sens. Richard Blumenthal, Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, Tim Kaine, Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker; House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; and House Democrats Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Maxine Waters, Ilhan Omar and Sheila Jackson. Also on it was former Rep. Beto O'Rourke and former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.

Media figures on the list included Scarborough, MSNBC hosts Chris Hayes and Ari Melber, and CNN's Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo and Van Jones.
No Republicans or Fox people on his list. He did Internet searches like
8:54 a.m.: "what if trump illegally impeached"
8:57 a.m.: "best place in dc to see congress people"
8:58 a.m.: "where in dc to congress live"
10:39 a.m.: "civil war if trump impeached"
11:26 a.m.: "social democrats usa"

"White nationalist" in the Coast Guard was stockpiling guns to massacre Democrats and journalists, prosecutors say – VICE News
After reviewing Federal Firearms Licensing records, prosecutors learned that Hasson was sitting on a huge cache of firearms — 15 in total, including AR-15s, long rifles and handguns, plus over 1,000 rounds of ammunition and body armor, all stashed in the basement of his home. The supplies were purchased from vendors in California, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Missouri.

Prosecutors also allege that Hasson ordered at least 4,200 pills of Tramadol, likely from an individual in Mexico, since 2016. According to a trove of draft emails hidden in a subfolder of Hasson’s account, he appeared to idolize Anders Breivik, a convicted far-right terrorist who murdered 77 people in attacks near Oslo, Norway, in 2011. Breivik suggested in his “manifesto” that prospective assailants begin taking steroids six weeks prior to an attack.

...
The motion cites numerous other draft emails that revealed Hasson’s hateful beliefs and violent leanings. In one email dated June 2017, Hasson wrote that he was “dreaming of a way to kill almost every last person on earth” and that liberal ideology was destroying white people’s traditions. “No way to counteract without violence,” Hasson wrote.

...
Many of the people on the hit-list were the same individuals targeted by Cesar Sayoc, a MAGA-obsessed Florida resident who sent package bombs to the president’s biggest critics, last October.

In addition to prominent Democrats named earlier, Hasson wanted to target 2020 Democratic hopefuls Sens. Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Elizabeth Warren (written as “Poca Warren”), according to the motion. His “hit list” also named Beto O’Rourke and Maxine Waters. He also planned to target civil rights icon Angela Davis; “DSA”; CNN’s Don Lemon, and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, Chris Hayes, and Ari Melber.

Prosecutors allege that Hasson also Googled phrases like “best place in D.C. to see Congress people,” “what if Trump illegally impeached,” “Civil War if Trump impeached” and “social democrats USA.”
"Poca Warren" -- Poca = Pocahontas

Notice how he only wants to kill prominent Democrats, and not prominent Republicans.

Arrested Coast Guard Officer Planned Mass Terrorist Attack 'On A Scale Rarely Seen' : NPR
"I am dreaming of a way to kill every last person on earth," Hasson wrote in a draft email dated June 2, 2017, that was uncovered by investigators, according to the court records.

Throughout the email, addressed to "friends ... acquaintances more likely," he contemplates the most effective methods to "cause complete destruction" by unleashing a biological attack on the public, followed by contamination of food supplies.
That will be awfully hard to do. The most that he might do is localized bioterrorism, and even that will be difficult.
"Much blood will have to be spilled to get whitey off the couch. ... They will die as will the traitors who actively work toward our demise," he wrote disdainfully.

The rambling and inchoate letter also includes a to-do list for the next four years, revealing Hasson's desire to "Get out of debt!!! Buy van to convert, diesel, Buy land for family out west or possibly NC mtns." He also adds that he needs to "come off" Tramadol, a highly addictive narcotic. "Clear my head," he says.

He read Anders Breivik's manifesto, and he has read a lot of pro-Russian, pro-fascist, and pro-Nazi literature.
Congrats, you made original quote even worse. That's quite a feat considering the original:

"the defendant conducted online searches and made thousands of visits for pro-Russian, neo-fascist, and neo-Nazi literature," the document says

The question now is, how many years will this bozo get and what prison gang will he join?

My question is how many such bozos will these years get us?
I wish they'd shit or get off the pot - maybe we'd all be better off if they all came out in the streets with their AKs and ARs and took the consequences.

Kudos to this guy for at least keeping up with politics., a bunch of new names in national Democrat politics there.

This Arya wannabee certainly wanted a lot of people to die. I'm starting to worry maybe our coasts aren't being guarded by the most trustful people.

I think you need to build a wall along the coastline to prevent these Coast Guard types from getting onto land to reduce this threat.

Somebody in the WaPo comment section said that Fox news doesn't even mention this on its website. I checked it out and I couldn't find any mention of this today, but there was a story about how Obama wore a very expensive jacket when he attended a basketball game the other day. It's good to know that Fox has its priorities.

And, as of this minute, Trump has been silent about this terrorist. I guess he likes terrorists that don't like Democrats and non white people.

I just checked and found six reports about it. But I had to use the Advanced Search feature. Whereas, yes, on the landing page and in the "Hot Topics" bar--yes, apparently Barack Obama was seen in an expensive jacket.

On the first story about the self-avowed White Nationalist from Feb. 20, the top commenter says:

This guy must be a liberal democrat.

Trump fellationados are too busy speaking out about the horrific crime of Jesse Smollet to bother with this insignificant bit of news.

They only have him on gun and drug charges. They have to come back in 2 weeks to convince the court why he shouldn't be released.

The guy has a list of targets, he should not be freed, but he didn't have a specific plan in motion.

Doesn’t the Patriot Act give them wide ranging powers about what they can charge him with? I’m 99% sure that if a Muslim guy was caught in the same situation there wouldn’t be this additional step.

A prominent conservative just shredded Trump's 'deafening silence' on an alleged white supremacist terror plot
... and conservative pundit Jennifer Rubin calls the president out in her latest Washington Post column.

“A successful law enforcement operation snagged a suspect allegedly bent on mass murder,” Rubin explains. “President Trump surely would take credit for this, right? Actually, as of Friday morning, there has been deafening silence from the White House. Why so mum?”
She speculated that suspected would-be terrorist Christopher P. Hasson does not fit into his narrative of foreign invaders and terrorists.
... And Rubin, in her column, theorizes that Trump “might not be keen on highlighting the Hasson case” because the suspect “seemed to take” Trump’s “vilification of the media to heart.”

Rubin notes that others suspected of domestic terrorist activity, including Florida mail bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc, also expressed a vehement hatred for the mainstream media. And she mentions the attack on a BBC cameraman at a recent Trump rally in El Paso, Texas.
She concludes:
“For Trump, it could all be part of his con game to rile up a low-information base of voters and give them easily identified enemies: the media, immigrants,” Rubin stresses. “This, however, is real life, where words matter, and Trump’s relative lack of interest in domestic terrorism that serves no partisan purpose might have deadly consequences.”
I'm reminded of pResident Trump's lack of objection of the Ku Klux Klan members and neo-Nazis at the "Unite the Right" march in Charlottesville VA last year. Even though his favorite daughter's husband is Jewish, and that this son-in-law lost some relatives to the original Nazis. CPH and Cesar Sayoc may seem too much like his favorite sort of people, just like the Charlottesville KKK and Neo-Nazis.

He may also be waiting for some Fox & Friends commentator to make a statement on CPH. He seems to have outsourced much of his policymaking to F&F's panelists and their guests.

When I was a teenager, I went through a phase in which I was into Taoism, and I pronounced it "Tayo-ist". I didn't realize until years later that I was going around telling people I'm a terrorist.
