Honestly, who cares? Anyone who voluntarily works for this schmuck deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

He's a general. He follows orders.
Trump really needs an actual COS, a gate keeper to manage his schedule and keep him on track with actual work, not side distractions.
But Trump does not want an actual COS, which is why he has so many people who don't have to go through the COS to get Trump's attention. People bragging that they're direct reports to Trump, ensuring they can bring their case to the big desk no matter what else is going on in other fiefdoms.

I suspect that Kelly's main job description will turn out to be not bothering Trump or Trump's favorites.
 
Trump needs a guy who can be his version of Rahm Emmanuel, but that is not going to happen. Bad for him, good for America though.

A guy like Rahm could keep him from being impeached. Good at tactics and could be rude/firm to Trump without seeming to be calling his authority into question.

Maybe Bannon is like that, not sure. If so, as soon as Bannon is gone Trump is not long for the office. He will really go off the rails then.
 
So it's said Kelly has turned down this job offer from Trump before. That he took it now when the position is vacant indicates he did so out of concern of what Trump might fill it with had he not. The man wants to, if not bring some level of effectiveness to the Executive, at least try and contain Trump. For the good of the country and the world, having a man who understands the pain of war beside Trump hopefully is a good thing.

No way, Kelly is a blind Trump loyalist. He has never tried to put a check on anything.

And really, the only personnel change that could lead to positive change in the WH is an Orangexit. The staff is not the main problem.

It does seem to be this way. Apparently, he was really happy about the fact that his trans ban in the military got the news talking about that instead of Russia so ... that meant everybody had moved on from the Russia investigation? His thought processes appear to be at the level of a five year old.
