This is such a fucking joke, I can't believe the woman and her male colleague were so piss poor in their voice acting. Glad to see the video angles come out showing her to be a liar. How could they be so dumb to not think they would not be found out?

The other part is the lie by Jabin Botsford (of the Washington Post) that he was NOT there, when there are photos credited to him at the event and a photo of him at the event.

Oh, and fuck Trump anyways. Not posting about this as a Trump lover.

perhaps the best views of the "assault":

The first video you see that it looks like he pulls her, but in the second you see that she does a do-si-do to get out of his way and his right hand reflexively is on her back in case she falls.

Seems like its a new fad these days. Walk by someone briefly, claim assault and hope the cameras aren't watching:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3435317/Tried-sex-crime-brushed-past-film-star-rush-hour.html

Their paths crossed for precisely half a second during the evening rush hour at Waterloo Station.

Mark Pearson, a 51-year-old artist, was on his way home from work, weaving through a thick tide of London commuters.

Walking towards him across the concourse came an award-winning star of film, TV, theatre and radio. She had just been to a yoga class and was heading to a rehearsal. Neither knew the other.

What happened next – or rather what didn’t happen – would cast Mr Pearson into what he calls a year-long ‘Kafkaesque nightmare’ from which he has only just escaped, and for which he squarely blames the Crown Prosecution Service.

I happen to know a guy who used to be a CPS prosecutor in that office (he is now a criminal defence lawyer), so I know this story via a non-media path, and there is no suggestion whatsoever that the victim was not actually assaulted; the problem is that the police, acting on a poor description, arrested the wrong man; presented the CPS with all the evidence (which they didn't have the resources to review) - including the CCTV, which made it VERY obvious that the arrested man, Mr Pearson, was not guilty - and the CPS office simply didn't have the resources to pay someone to watch the CCTV either - so instead of immediately dropping the case and asking the police to re-open their investigation, Mr Pearson was dragged into court to no purpose - seriously fucking up his life, while simultaneously allowing the real criminal to go scot free.

This is not a story about false accusation of assault by a lying 'victim'; it is a story about the woeful under-funding of the CPS and the police, by a succession of right-wing governments in the UK, leading to both agencies assuming (or hoping) that the other will cover the cost of reviewing evidence, because they no longer have the budget to do it themselves.

Reviewing CCTV can be a very labour intensive job, even if a fairly accurate time for the offence is known, as there may be multiple cameras to review; In a busy London railway terminus, it would not be surprising to have ten cameras to review, and a half hour window of uncertainty about the exact time of the offence - that's five hours of work for a policeman or lawyer to review it just once, and probably a full day to review it and write up a report on the contents. Neither the Met Police not the CPS can afford to spend a whole person-day just for CCTV review on every single assault case. Not these days. (Perhaps they could rope in some tabloid journalism interns to do the work instead; they seem to have nothing better to do with their time).

huh, damn...if true then both Pearson and she should sue the government for damages. Otherwise it makes her seem an unhinged person.

It could damage her acting career after actually being assaulted.

It's impossible to say that this is the incident.

But the woman showed a few small bruises on her forearm.

She may have been grabbed by somebody but not for very long or very hard.

This is a sideshow of course. Distraction from things of importance, but we don't have a press that cares about more than distraction.

The agent of Loki strikes again

I have no idea if this incident was blown out of proportion or not. However, whatever happened it does seem to have exposed some strong internal strife within Breibart. Two other people besides Fields have resigned now. And the article suggests that others are looking to depart the company.

In his own statement, Shapiro said the episode was emblematic of how he believes the site’s management had sold out the legacy of its founder and namesake, the late Andrew Breitbart.

“Andrew’s life mission has been betrayed,” Shapiro wrote. “Indeed, Breitbart News, under the chairmanship of Steve Bannon, has put a stake through the heart of Andrew’s legacy. In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda, to the extent that he abandoned and undercut his own reporter, Breitbart News’ Michelle Fields, in order to protect Trump’s bully campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who allegedly assaulted Michelle.”

I've seen other odd things with Glenn Beck and Breibart hurling insults back and forth, as Beck backs Cruz to the hilt. It is interesting as Breibart seems to be a younger generation web feed for the tea partiers and Beck seems more part of the older generation.

Yeah, the right-wing talking heads are at odds, or disillusioned.

What is funny is to say that Breitbart had a legacy of any worth.

If it comes down to a he said, she said kind of thing, I'm inclined to assume that the Trump camp is lying, simply because they have been caught lying still many times in the past and because Trump openly encourages violence among his followers.

But I guess it is easier for rightists to simply assume that anyone who dares question der Fuhrer must be up to something dastardly.

I think that Journalism is one of the few exceptions for having it be ok for coworkers or bosses to be skeptical of reporters telling the truth in these he said/she said situations. As long as it is balanced. Also, airing dirty laundry is really not good in most cases it is very impolitic.

I view this like police officer or judges should be open for a full financial audit at any time, because the power they have to receive bribes is so great. A reporter or non fiction author should be open for a full "truth audit" at any time. Would have helped with Sabrina Erdely and Stephen Glass.

Ha, this is a video she made with a description that RFK Jr got handsy with her. Didn't happen.

These videos are getting pulled down a lot:

here is a slow motion of one of the two I posted:

another one:

Well, we seem to anyway have a meltdown at Brietbart. Always a fine thing to see assholes in disarray.
Yep, it seems the chaos continues...
http://www.politico.com/blogs/on-me...esign-jordan-schachtel-jarrett-stepman-220730
Schachtel and Stepman join at least four other Breitbart employees who have resigned in the past week. The resignations stem from Breitbart's response to an incident last Tuesday where Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields says she was aggressively grabbed by Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Fields filed a police report over the incident.

a little followup:

So Michelle Fields will not be on the weekend Fox News show "Cashin' In" anymore. Not sure what is going on exactly.

Also, I have a technical question about youtube videos that may relate to this case.

So, supposedly one of the videos in my OP was changed (but not the address) after the user's account was hacked. But I thought that you can't change the video once you upload it. Is something more high level going on here - like with youtube staff? I really hate to be conspiratorial, but I want this explained.

Looked again at the video and it looks like it was not replaced, but instead edited to be overlayed with a white screen (you can barely see the original underneath) and tagged up.

In that sense yes, because it is complex to disprove a negative. This is correct. There can be mistaken identity. I cannot locate it but a large Afro American woman appeared to be on camera attacking and robbing an old man who eventually died. Though poor quality (hence almost useless) it seemed to look like here. However her defence lawyer noticed that the person in the Video had half an index finger missing. The accused had all her digits and the case was dismissed. In London there are thousands of cameras. For serious events the authorities are commendably quick in locating the person responsible (bombings and serious crimes).

This particular case looks like BS. But what is most interesting is that we are talking about two groups of people who call themselves conservatives (although one doubts about Trump).

The Beitbart people in question are 'anybody but Trump' people and are at odds with Beitbart's cheer leading Trump.

The Republicans seriously need to derail Trump's candidacy if they want to save their party. The Trump people certainly don't care about the principles of the republican party (even the good ones).
