Anyone left still believing Trump will not be taken down?

Will Trump be taken down?

Not going unless the Dems win both the House and the Senate--from what I hear, this is unlikely.

If he somehow reaches the end of his term, he will be taken down shortly after that. I can’t think of anyone interested in protecting him once he is out of power.

Every president could be impeached for that.

No. Lately only the Republicans.

Ronald Reagan: Moron

GW Bush: Complete moron.

Trump: Complete moron and asshole.

It's a feature of partisan politics to call the other party's guy stupid while praising your guy as a genius. Just ain't so.

White House staff exodus exposes Obama to charges of disarray

The Many Wars of Donald Trump

As President Trump finished his first full year in office, he could look back at an impressive record of achievement of a kind rarely attained by an incoming president — much less by one who arrived in office as a private-sector billionaire without either prior political office or military service. As unintended proof of his accomplishments, Trump’s many liberal opponents have gone from initially declaring him an incompetent to warning that he has become effective — insanely so — in overturning the Obama progressive agenda.

Never Trump Republicans acknowledge that Trump has realized much of what they once only dreamed of — from tax reform and deregulation to a government about-face on climate change, the ending of the Obamacare individual mandate, and expansion of energy production.

At the conclusion of Trump’s first year, the stock market and small-business confidence are at record highs, and consumer confidence has not been higher in 17 years. Trump’s loud campaign promises to lure back capital and industry to the heartland no longer look quixotic, given new tax and deregulatory incentives and far cheaper energy costs than in most of Europe and Japan.

Trump has now ended 66 regulations for every one he has added. Few believed a Republican president could cut the corporate-tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent while capping state- and local-tax deductions for mostly high earners to $10,000. Those are the highlights of a comprehensive tax-reform and -reduction agenda that will likely accelerate the economy to an even more rapid growth rate than Trump’s first two full quarters of annualized increases in GDP of more than 3 percent

For all the political horse-trading over extending or ending the Obama executive orders on DACA, illegal immigration has declined according to some metrics by over 60 percent. It is now at the lowest levels in the 21st century — even before the ending of chain migration and enacting of new border-security initiatives.

Not bad for an incompetent.

Anyone think he will leave the Oval Office on respectable terms?

Yes, unfortunately. However, if you asked me if he deserves to leave the Oval Office on respectable terms, I would have to revise my answer significantly.

Taken down for what? Maybe a little less MSNBC would do you good.

Too bad he can't be fired for being an asshole. But if we want to follow the law, how about Obstruction of justice? His firing of Mcabbe and Comey are pretty clear examples of obstruction.

Obama was a genius compared to the absolute moron Trump.

Show me one thing that Trump has done that is not just a gift to the rich.

The stock market is not an indicator of economic health or general prosperity. It is a casino for the the ultra-rich.

Personally, I think if Trump suddenly started acting presidential, and had no more scandal for this term and a next, he still would not be respectable.

For fucks sake, he didn't first McCabe. Astonishing how the media has misreported this. Less astonishing that the useful idiots are uncritically eating it up.

Thats a horrid record, even as it tries to be a highlight reel. Taking credit for an economy that has been improving steadily under Obama is a nice touch. Deregulation to let corporations run roughshod over your communities and giving the wealthy a tax break, well I guess some find that appealling. Glad I am Canadian, however some of his "stupid" has been leaking over the border lately with his trade comments.

Being an asshole is a positive attribute. It's the ingredient for success.

Don't agree at all. You can be an asshole and successfully manage a real estate company. But assholes mostly fail in any enterprise where leadership and competence are required. Trump has failed in all his companies where leadership was required.

If you don't like Trump, it's unlikely he could do anything that would make you like him. I think he knows that. That's why he acts the way he does and doesn't give a shit if his opponents get offended.

Anyone left still believing Trump will not be taken down?
Anyone think he will leave the Oval Office on respectable terms?
Two different questions.

To the question in the thread title: As long as Trump does nothing detrimental to the interests of Republican voters, Congress will not rock the boat. So, no, he won't.

To the question in the opening post: Depends on whom you ask. To the MAGA cap wearing crowd, he will remain a hero who can do no wrong. Yes, he could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue. Just proves what a Man he is. In fact, bonus points if he shot a black person. He fucked a lot of women? Yes, a real Man! Sacks staff he appointed left, right and centre? A Man who won't be fucked around with. Locker room talk? That's what real men do, dontcha know? Tariffs and unfunded tax cuts turn the economy pear shaped? That's down to 'Bammy. Or the Chinese. If he is made to leave ahead of schedule it won't be a matter of respectable terms. It'll be the result of a conspiracy, an injustice.
