What's wrong with Christians voting for Trump? He's very racist, he treats women badly, he treats LGBTQ badly, and he steps on the necks of the poor for the benefit of the rich. It wouldn't make sense for liberal Christians to vote for Trump, but the majority of Christians should have no problem with him or his presidency. In fact, they have ever reason to be happy with it.

I'll tell you what. All of the gnashing of teeth over Clinton and his affairs. The evangelical right wing went on and on and wouldn't shut up about it. Oh the damage Clinton did to the moral fiber of the United States! To have survived listening to all of that for years, for them to support Trump?!

They'd eventually put W in the damn White House... and because that wasn't bad enough, they put Trump in too!

And when are we going to hear, in reference to Melania, "How can she stay with him? What kind of woman would stay with a cheating slimeball like that?"

I think we can look forward to beginning to hear that about fifteen years and not have the questions stop anytime between then and now.

Also the type of woman is called a "gold digger".

When you’re a Russian FSB asset, you have to do a lot of things you don’t like.

I had to listen to my sister have an intellectually bereft shit-fit that amounted to, "How dare they attack the First Lady! Have they no shame???" a few weeks back.

In order to maintain peace and not cut another person out of my life I mumbled something about how being in the spotlight is part of the gig along with a shoulder shrug, rather than saying what I would've liked to have said; something about Hillary, Chelsea Clinton, gold digging, soft core porn photo shoots, birther spouting vampire, costing the taxpayers tens of millions of dollars by refusing to leave New York for six months, etc.

As for the Christian right, the excuse for their uber-hypocrisy is that Trump is a purely practical way for them to achieve their goals. That is, he was the only candidate that was paying attention to their concerns (shameless, naked pandering = addressing their concerns).

I guess if the need to create a new Mount Everest out of horse shit arises, we have the reserves to do so.

But if one were to wonder what the content of her prenuptial agreement with Donny may say about infidelity, the "gold digger" course of action might be to file, take her cut, and then move on to the next one.

One of the consequences of the Euthyphro dilemma is that all authority-based moral systems lead to the most extreme form of moral relativism imaginable. Under authority-based moral systems, things are not good or bad based on what is done, but based on who does them.

Thus, when God ordered everyone in a city killed, including the babies and animals, this was a good thing, but if you were to order the same thing, that would be extremely immoral. (This is an actual argument made by William Lane Craig, who also insists that moral absolutism proves God.)

See how it works?

Thus, when Clinton committed infidelity, that was a bad thing, but when Trump does it, it's good. That's just how Christian "morality" works.
