How so?
Most regard FDR as one of the best presidents in the history of the US. Because of FDR, America saw the worlds first middle class spring up from the depression.
He was the grand daddy of populism if ever there were. I do not see how populism was ever bad at all. At least not for the average American. Even the plutocrats would have to admit FDR's style of populism helped the country. Because FDR saved capitalism from itself.

You are looking at the wrong metric. What is important is the supply chains for high value production and what has occurred since the Trump administration. They are clearly moving OUT of China right now.
You are not looking at the long term picture.
He probably lengthened the depression.

Depending on ones political ideology, I have heard it argued either that he helped or hurt.
But this is what can not be argued. What is 100% certain is that FDR was extremely popular during his day with the middle class. So much so, he remains the only President in US history to ever be voted in office more than 2 terms. Thats not going to happen by doing bad policy or making false promises.
You simply can not become that popular by promoting or prolonging hardship to your voting constituents. FDR made the country stronger and saved the working class.

They said that about Trump too. And that isn't what happened. Not yet anyway.
Furthermore, the US economy is already pretty radical in terms of wealth disparity and needs some radical leadership to bring it back to normal again. The POTUS is still not a dictator and not everything proposed is going to get done.

No. Im just a white male. But the Democratic party hates white males right now. Im not going to complain about it or try to say I am being victimized. But I also do not think the Democrats in general can represent my best interests right now.
Whether someone is popular or not has little to do with whether their actions are good for the country.

“We’ve got to pay attention to both [Israel and the Palestinians] and by the way, it’s not a dissimilar situation with regard to Iran and Saudi Arabia. For years, we have loved Saudi Arabia, our wonderful ally. Only problem is the people run that country are murderous thugs,” he said.
The social democrat senator said instead of “being really cosy” with “the billionaire dictator”, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Washington should facilitate a dialogue between Iran and the kingdom to end their proxy wars in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia has not been treated as “our wonderful ally” for some time. But there is a recognition that the Saudi Crown Prince, however ruthless he has been in disposing of perceived enemies of the regime, such as Jamal Khashoggi, has also instituted some far-reaching social reforms. The most important have been those that allow Saudi women to leave their houses without a male escort, and to drive by themselves, again without a male guardian. MBS has also clamped down on the powers of the religious police, the Mutaween, a move which angered some powerful clerics — Mohammed bin Salman managed to face them down. He helped organize a boycott of Qatar by other Gulf Arab states, because of that country’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood – an organization that the Saudi rulers fear and detest — and because of Qatar’s ties to Iran.

I believe I explained it already. Russia is a designated/default enemy which is vitally important to Military Industrial Complex.
You can't use Israel or Great Britain to fund F22 program.
It's already been pointed out that you are completely full of shit when you spout rhetorical nonsense like this. Bernie Sanders has a tax policy even more conservative than the Morrison Government.

I would agree with you when talking about the potential POTUS candidates having no track record. In those cases, people can be and are sometimes swayed by bull shit and good speeches.
But that was not the case with FDR. After having already serving 2 terms, his results were spectacularly successful with the middle class. The population knew in real time confirming his leadership was working for them. And they were voting off past results.
