I thought it was about exposing heartless meteorologists that were in the biz for the yuuuuuuge corporate sponsorships and not the science.Twister is an underappreciated classic. Most people just don't realize that it's not about tornadoes, it's about infertility.

Being an Aussie in the Southern Hemisphere, the tornados are upside down, so an even bigger threat.I saw it at the drive-in.
Kept looking out for flying combine harvesters on the drive home.
Why infertility?
Why infertility?
I might not remember all the details, but wasn't Bill Paxton's and Helen Hunt's marriage in shambles because they could not have a child? The whole movie is about bringing them two back together. And that is done by way of trying to launch sperm-like devices into the heart of a tornado, an obvious metaphor for fertilization.

I loved Paxton's easy-going charm and skill with comedy -- he did a nice hosting job on SNL back in the 90's. Was amazed to see him take character parts in some recent action films (because he was nearly unrecognizeable -- in one of them, I had to replay his scenes after seeing his name in the end credits -- I'm referring to that replay-the-past story, but I can't remember the title.) He had the modesty and self-deprecation of Jeff Bridges.
Impossible! I saw the movie in my teens.I might not remember all the details, but wasn't Bill Paxton's and Helen Hunt's marriage in shambles because they could not have a child? Or maybe you're just a horndog.![]()
