#BLM thugs beat up a high schooler

I agree.

So when people go to a #BLM rally to publicly express their objection to the lingering racism that causes public officials and LEOs to value their lives less than that of other citizens, you understand that doesn't make them racist, right?

They're either uninformed (because BLM is based on a lie) or racist.

oh Loren, just say it

Black Lives Don't Matter.

You know you want to.

An obsession to tar efforts by blacks to end excessive police violence with every minor crime by random youths is a sign of racist inclinations.

Except BLM is based on targeting all police violence against blacks without any regard for whether it was proper or not. The true purpose of BLM (admittedly, not known to most of it's supporters) is to stir up racial hate.

The actions by the police are stirring up this hate.

They are using excessive force, even deadly force, when it is not necessary. They are doing it merely for convenience as if they are dealing with insects.

And of course the incidents that are video taped are just the tip of a huge iceberg.

Blacks have been enduring this injustice for decades.

Some never question the actions by authority.

They are the true insects.

Hang on. The BLM movement isn't orchestrated like some sort of 60'ies negro Illuminati. All blacks in USA have ample reason to be pissed off. Some are more angry than others. There will be a bell curve. Saying that the entire movement is defined by the less gifted members of their community isn't fair. For the reason it isn't fair to define all atheists by what trolling idiot atheists say in theist forums.

Well, do you mean Black Lives Matter the actual organization, or the hashtag on Twitter, or something else?

People seem to have a terrible difficulty distinguishing between these three - and I don't mean you, Zoidberg.

But I've seen (and I won't bother to point out) folks saying "Black Lives Matter believes in segregation.", and as evidence, they'll literally looks at a sheet and read "The New Black Panther Party calls for five states to be owned by black people". Or they'll play that small group screaming "What do we want!? Dead Cops!! When do we want them?! Now!!" with no idea that this is, again, an entirely seperate group.

So, first, instead of some kids who use a hashtag once in a while, let's be clear. What actual, time-and-money connection to these assholes have to Black Lives Matter?

An organisation is it's members. No, wait... today... an organisation is, all, the people who share it on Facebook. I don't think the three founders of BLM have any control. They said something once that hit home, created a tag-line that stuck. Beyond that, they're just in for the ride. If the founders would make a statement, they're about as likely to get heard as anybody else on the planet.

So I mean all of the different things. It's the same thing. Today, the founders of movements, and even their representatives, don't define shit. That's a pre-Internet idea that just has to die. It's an obsolete way of thinking of movements. They are no longer top-down controlled. None of them are. And if they try to be.... they die.

I never had you pegged for a conspiracy theorist--you generally are against conspiracy theories. I have even appreciated some of your posts over the last decade when you've been against those theories. But now your claims are off the deep end, as they say. If you're going to say things like that, you need extraordinary proof. Extraordinary claims require it or did you forget?

Conspiracy theory?

It's just a logical extension of what we have seen for many years--people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton stirring up hate in order to maintain their own position as the leaders. BLM is new paint on the same old story.

It's an unfortunate problem that shows up in many guises. Having a position of power in a substantial movement is something that changes some of the people--they're determined to maintain it even if the true reason for it is gone. It probably played a role in Bin Laden's rise to archterrorist--he was a rich nobody before the war. He was a somebody during the war against the Russians.

Bringing up Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Osama Bin Laden as demogagic and dangerous leaders in a thread about four people who beat up another person who are tangentially linked to a social movement (BLM) is pretty convincing evidence someone is either some sort of conspiracy theorist or just reaching for straws to support his prejudices.

Ok, please expand on that. This'll be good.

They're pretending the dead blacks were angels when in reality generally there's not a bit of angel to be seen and they played a major role in their deaths.
That is utterly disgraceful to say about Tamir Rice and Philandro Castile (to name just a few).

Apart from being a bullshit reason not to support them... Wow. You really don't get it, do you? I think you may be a lost cause. I'm at a loss for words.

"Anyone who is not perfect deserves to die" is the distilled essence of fascism.

It's not a matter of "deserve".

Most of the cases that BLM is protesting are things like Michael Brown, not Tamir Rice. Criminals who were trying to avoid arrest and which posed a serious danger to the cops in the process. Unfortunately, such people tend to get shot.

"Criminals who were trying to avoid arrest and which posed a serious danger to the cops in the process" is a VERY small subset of "People who are angels".
