How could Brandon be seriously considered as a presidential candidate in 2024?

Joe Biden has accidentally revealed a cheat sheet giving him basic commands about where to sit and what to do during a meeting with wind industry executives at the White House. The President mistakenly showed photographers the list of instructions that said 'take YOUR seat', 'YOU give brief comments' and 'YOU depart'. The 79-year-old was also instructed to speak to specific attendees, ask them questions and thank them before leaving. They have sparked major concerns for the President's welfare and mental capacity as he approaches 80 despite the White House shooting down questions over his health.

Daily Mail

Insufferable prick Gavin Newsom is giddy with excitement at the prospect of running for president. That will be a hoot.

So. I'd vote for Mike the Headless Chicken before I'd vote for Trump! I don't want to live in a dictatorship!

A five-point cheat sheet, which was photographed by a number of media outlets that attended the session, which also included survivors of previous shootings, reminded the president to ask "What would you most want me to know about your experience?" and "What can we do to help you feel safe?"

The president had also written under point number five: "I hear you," prompting criticism after a photograph of the crib sheet was shared on social media.
How is this differant?

That was Trump. This is Biden. Cue cards are only considered evidence of dementia if the patient is a Maoist dictator, not if they're the Nazi kind.

Wait until T-swiz finds out there's a little "x" on television stages so that the host knows where to stand, a light on the back wall of comedy clubs to tell the act their time is up, and "marks" on every movie and TV show set so that actors know where to stand when they're in the shot.

Thank you. My post above was amateurish that feeds into the republican narrative. There is a great double standard. For example, Biden speaks aggressively about standard Taiwan policy regarding China, and the press calls it "another Biden quaff! But Trump exaggerated policies every single day. Trump said dumb shit every day. All politicians try to follow a script. It's a very rare politician who can go off script but remain brilliant and quaff free (Obama was one, either Clinton also).

We know. I mean Larry Elder is your guy so...
If a bunch of people vote for Trump again, we won't have to worry about that pesky "voting" anymore.
Oh, I'm sure we'll still vote. Most of the contemporary dictator club lets people vote for them every few years, some even require it; it lends a necessary aesthetic element of democracy to any modern autocrat's public image.

Sure, every qualified resident will have the right to vote.

And by ‘qualified’, I of course exclude those under the age of 18, criminals, non-citizens, the mentally incompetent, anyone who has ever received government assistance such as SNAP, those unfit to vote due to excessive skin melanin, atheists, homosexuals, transsexuals, and sufferers of Y-chromosome deficiency.

There may also be a minimum landholding requirement, to ensure that people with no clear investment in the nation itself are permitted to undermine the democratic process.

Well no shit Sherlock. You try to impose equality amongst voting, who the fuck knows where that would end.

I remember when people were displeased with Eisenhower for being too old. He was 62 at his first inauguration, and was the very first President ever to serve at age 70. (His 70th birthday was just weeks before JFK was elected.) Those were the good old days.

It was Ronald Reagan who started the trend for over-aged Presidents, but he was actually still in his 60s (barely) at his first Inauguration. (When did Reagan's Alzheimer's symptoms show up?)

Would I prefer Presidents in their 60s instead of their 70s? You betcha! Kamala Harris will celebrate her 60th birthday shortly before the 2024 Election. Keep your fingers crossed!

But I'd take a non-demented 90-year old over a semi-literate sociopath who brags about taking a test doctors give old people to test for dementia!

One constant about Republicans and other QOPAnoners is that they impute their own faults and crimes to Democrats. T***P and multiple Members of Congress are accused of sexual harassment or even child sex trafficking? "Hillary ran a child sex ring out of a pizzeria." T***p and his "intellect" became the laughing-stock of the world? Biden uses a note-pad.

Some of these QOPAnoners are literate enough to post on message boards. Are they self-aware?

Let's Go Brandon!

It’s a timeline for an event; meetings, ceremonies, missile shoots, trips to outer space. Oftentimes all participants are given one to keep things running smoothly, no one is overlooked (kind of a big deal if your meeting with the president) and/or everything happens in its proper sequence. Government agencies love them.
And yes, the administration’s position is written down to tamp down the gaffes. There’s a lot of different positions on a lot of different issues for an entire country. So yeah, they write them down.

I trust you checked out some of the advertisements while you were there. Because this was the point of the story.

What's wrong with a cheat sheet?

Is your pilot losing the plot because he uses a checklist when doing various procedures?
The question is: is a cheat-sheet with such low-level instructions typical of previous presidents?

I've had detailed itineraries before but never one telling me how and when I should take a seat.

It has already been demonstrated instructions are common for such events. That you don't believe it is your problem.

Good for you. Were you the featured speaker in an unfamiliar venue?

Just when we thought we finally grasped the depth of QOPAnon stupidity, we see Jordan Klepper interviewing Trumpsuckers who paid money and spent an entire day to help finance T***p's "Stop the Steal" grift. They knew nothing about January 6: — Some were completely unaware that there was an insurrection. One man thought the insurrection was led by Nancy Pelosi or George Soros.

At about the 5-minute mark, Jordan shows some of the "Let's Go Brandon" crowd videos of Ivanka Trump saying she trusts Bill Barr. Some of the imbeciles can't parse a sentence with two negatives and agree with the rational-thinkers until Jordan rephrases his question to avoid negatives. One Trumpsucker asks how he can know this Ivanka testimony wasn't edited in some way. Another says "It almost don't even look like her ... It might be one of those, what they got clones out there these days?"

America organized the Liberation of Europe in 1944. America landed a man on the Moon in 1969. I almost wonder if those facts are fake news! How could a people so capable have sunk to the imbecility that distinguishes those whingeing "Let's Go Brandon"?

They've been fed this trash for decades. They have absolutely no way of actually observing real life without the alt-right lens in front of their eyes. And for them to question anything they see now, would require admitting being completely stupid and wrong for a decade or decades. The brain is wired to spin stuff so the uncomfortable part of being wrong can be swept under the rug, it rewards the mind for political spin.

Nothing of the kind has been demonstrated.

hat you don't believe it is your problem.
I didn't even say I did not believe. I asked if low-level notes like that were common for former presidents. If you think the hand-written note that Donald Trump has counts, I don't know what to say to you. They're completely different. To begin with, Trump's was a list of questions he wanted to ask, which is something interviewers always have written down (if they're good interviewers). Biden's instructions reminded him to sit in his chair.

I've had detailed itineraries before but never one telling me how and when I should take a seat.
Good for you. Were you the featured speaker in an unfamiliar venue?
Not a "featured" speaker, but I have given an oral presentation at an academic conference at an unfamiliar venue, and I didn't get instructions on how to sit in my chair.

Biden's card was indeed a 'whole bunch of stuff' that normal people manage to navigate without that level of instruction.

I might be thinking of Palin, but I thought there was one cheat sheet that was particularly simplistic.

But the cited cheat sheet... I remember now... that was Trump's cheat sheet for the school shooting. And it needed to have a line specifically for empathy.

I hear White House staff will go so far as to reach out to reporters scheduled to be at briefings and ask what questions they plan on asking the president all in an effort for the president to avoid saying, "I'll get back to you on that".

See, it's all rigged! All rigged I tell you! Where to stand. What to do. Who the hell am I talking to. What country am I in again? I don't know how to show empathy! I need a cheat sheet for empathy!

Whew.

I suppose meetings, press conferences and such are like job interviews. No matter how much you prepare, when the spotlight is on you, you just freeze up. Forget the simplest stuff.

Then again some are just fucking hopeless.

Like Obama's "brown suit"... It's the worst "they" got so it's all "they" have.

I get frustrated with Biden on occasion, but he's fundamentally a good man and a competent administrator, rare qualities in the White House. I've voted for him twice, once in 2012 and then in 2020, and I don't regret either vote. As an added bonus, he's so boring that the conservatives really have to stretch to credibly attack him on anything.

I'm sure it works for their base, but only because anything would. Anyone who has ever been to a meeting knows that it is not unusual for a presenter to have notes. And these notes, you know, they aren't written in Sharpie.

If you’re asking me, Reagan’s Alzheimer’s was showing in his first term.

One of the reasons that in the past, POTUS were younger or rather, less old, is that people are living longer and healthier than in earlier times.

He's neither of those things but in any event, he's losing his marbles.

"Sorry to hear your CFO unexpectedly dropped dead"

The Independent
"Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media. Hope that happens to me someday. He was a classic RINO [Republican in Name Only], if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans. He made plenty of mistakes, but anyway, may he rest in peace!"

You know exactly who said that without my elucidating it, I trust. We can do this all day, but what's the point? None of these pieces of shit ever care about the citizens of the country they rule anyway; my main concern is the degree to which the presidency manages to keep its plutocratic paws off of my civil rights, and from the everyday conduct of my life. Trump was good at the latter, an overt danger to the former. Biden is mediocre at everything, and I find that preferable.

Most of them are highly religious.

They have spent their entire lives being continuously indoctrinated to believe nonsense, and to accept the proclamations of their tribal authorities, no matter how detached from reality.

Some are. The evangelicals are like that and they'll vote for Satan to get rid of abortion (and women in the work place). Other people are not very religious, but believe in God in a loose by their gut sense (never opened a Bible) and think things back in the good ole days were just better. Many have been riled up into a frenzy by AM radio and Cable News. People so brainwashed, they are political dysfunctional and grossly misinformed, like the people who hate government programs and love SS and Medicare.

Using the word "Brandon" instead of Biden is the surest sign of a deficient mind.

It is interesting to note that the people railing against some imagined socialism in the US are also the first to demand that the government step in and modify world gas prices for their benefit. When you examine this contridiction you find that "socialism" is perfectly fine as long as it doesn't benefit the 'other'.... which we all know to be black or brown.

I'm sure it works for their base, but only because anything would. Anyone who has ever been to a meeting knows that it is not unusual for a presenter to have notes. And these notes, you know, they aren't written in Sharpie.
Boring is a good quality in a president.
I wish more Americans agreed! We would make far better choices at the ballot box.

Using the word "Brandon" instead of Biden is the surest sign of a deficient mind.

Does that apply when the target is Trump ?
What are you talking about?

The "Lets go Brandon" slogan is on a completely different level of idiocy than just making dumb names up for a president.

It is trying to be subversive but just comes off as being cowardly.... it is just tribalism for the sake of tribalism. It isn't even clever.

When you ask one of those morons for their reasoning, they don't have anything beyond conspiracy theories or (at best) making fun of Biden for a shudder.

Fascists have always played the game of going to far and then winking, "it was just a joke".... but the "Lets go Brandon" people are too cowardly and dumb to even play this game.

Just say "Fuck Joe Biden" if that is what you want to say.

It's hilarious how all prissy the Brandon Bros become when their guy comes in for a bit of ribbing.

I could use the expression false equivalence, but those are big boy words and considering the person making the argument, well...

So I'll try something else. Calling Trump "Joffrey 2.0" or "Tangerine Mussolini" are not only meant to be insulting to Trump, but provide context on why he is such a cunt. He loves his temper tantrums. He wanted military parades in his honour, he joked about being President for life. Calling him Joffrey or Mussolini highlights that. It provides some nuanced context as to way Trump is so despicable, but there's me using big boy words again. I'm sorry. "Brandon" on the other hand is infantile. It's on the level of a five year old giving their parents the finger behind a closed door. It's ironic that the same MAGAtards who lament about how soft the US military is becoming compared to Russia are same people who are too fucking scared to say "Fuck Joe Biden". I guess they are all a bunch of pussies who have been grabbed by Trump's fervor.

Now here's the twist; I want people like yourself and other MAGAcunts to keep on saying "Let's go Brandon". I really do. My reasoning is straight forward. Since Trump started gassing protesters so he could get his photo taken outside a church and lead an insurrection that killed more Americans than Benghazi, the number of MAGAtards who wear red caps has steadily decreased. And they were great. The hats were a brilliant idea. They said loudly and proudly to the world, "Don't waste your time, I am a cunt". Let's go Brandon can fill the same role and let everybody know what you and your tribe is all about.

Embrace it and say it loud my dude. It's the most accurate and efficient way to show everybody what you are all about.

When it comes to presidential insults think about what comes to mind when you hear them

Tricky Dick - Nixon was known to play dirty politics
Slick Willy - funny with a sexual twist
GW Bush - Shrub... funny because he is a little Bush. And he always had a dumb look on his face
Obummer - pretty clever use of name, not racist like MANY of the Obama names
Too many to list for Trump, because he was legitimately a huge piece of shit as a president and human being

Brandon - what kind of retarded person though that was clever or funny. Sleepy Joe is a million times better.... but kind of fails because Trumpers are using it and Biden at 79 makes Trump look like Jabba the Hut.

Rate the U.S. Presidents is a fun game sometimes played at get-togethers or on message-boards. Some people are surprised at the high rating Eisenhower gets: "But nothing happened when he was President!" "Precisely."

JFK made big mistakes at the Bay of Pigs and, contrary to myth, with the Cuban Missile Crisis. LBJ had the Vietnam War. Bush-43's term was particularly full of exciting actions and inactions by the federal government!

But Ike's Presidency was forgettably boring. He built some freeways. Yet historians rate him as a better President than anyone we've had since.

Eisenhower had the Federal Highways system.... arguably one of the biggest and most useful (destructive?) federal works projects

Yeah, but hardly his idea.

All four of the occupying powers in 1945-50 were hugely impressed by the German Autobahn network, and its huge value for military logistics.

The three Western powers saw it and said “If only we had had something like this, we could have won the war so much more easily”, and they embarked upon a massive highway construction programme in their home nations. Eisenhower’s experience as Supreme Allied Commander in the Western European theatre put him in a particularly good position to grasp the value of the system to the military capabilities of a nation.

The Germans began building transport infrastructure for military purposes almost a century earlier; If you look at the railway maps of England, France, and Germany, it’s noticeable that England and France have major railroads radiating out from their capital cities, while the Germans built a series of parallel East-West mainlines across their country, to support the mass troop movements implied by the Schliffen Plan. After WWI, they repeated the feat with Autobahns, reflecting the shift in importance from rail to road for military transport.

The Soviets took a different lesson from the Autobahn. Their response was “thank goodness we didn’t have anything like this; The Wehrmacht would have been in Moscow before we even realised they had invaded”.

Good is generally boring. Bad is generally notable. Good gets things done, bad tries to take credit for things that they had little to do with.

You can be a leader, with honesty and integrity without being boring. IMO Biden is an excellent administrator, he not a leader.
