What's up with this?
I can't help but read this and see the text between the lines: "being slaves ruled by fascists like it's 1984 isn't so bad as long as they'll go after those icky faggots and trannies"As they discuss in your video, the US military has no chance of success against China today. And not just because their military is bigger than the US. Taking over Tawain and/or Australia is only a matter of time, I'm actually a little suprised Xi hasn't already blockaded or invaded Tawain..
When you can't even defeat Afghanistan after 20 years its more than obvious the US military can not compete with China. IMO the best the west can hope to achieve is reverse outsourcing and current supply chains. Its way too little and too late though since our workforce has lost so many skills.
The thought of the PRC ruling the world used to disturb me quite a bit. But not so much any more now that the woke movement has taken hold of the west. Because even though the PRC is communist and lacking of freedom,... at least they are still reasonably sane and still believe in family values....I'm trying to look at the bright side of things.![]()
You really think that Afghanistan defeated the US. Who did this? The Taliban? Under what metric? We are trying to fix the supply chain. But this takes time. Not as easy as you'd assume. And you honestly believe that the Chinese government believes in family values? Seriously? Have you heard of Peng Shuai? Heard of people getting "disappeared"? Yikes. I'm not seeing much on the bright side.As they discuss in your video, the US military has no chance of success against China today. And not just because their military is bigger than the US. That is the only way I can read it. Is knowing that you can be disappeared for "criticizing" the government or suggesting the president resembles a honey obsessed yellow teddy bear really better than meeting unashamed gay/queer people who can't be fired (or executed) for kissing their partner in public?I can't help but read this and see the text between the lines: "being slaves ruled by fascists like it's 1984 isn't so bad as long as they'll go after those icky faggots and trannies"As they discuss in your video, the US military has no chance of success against China today. I am not a military expert, and I suspect neither are you. But there is no way China could quickly and effectively take over Australia. It is too far away for a sneak attack, and it is too large to completely and effectively conquer. As they discuss in your video, the US military has no chance of success against China today. The last time Australia was invaded, the invading power was on the cusp of becoming one of the largest and strongest empires in world history, and the defenders were a fragmented polity of hundreds of tribes of hunter-gatherers whose most advanced weapons were sticks, rocks, and wooden spears.I am not a military expert, and I suspect neither are you. But we already knew that the priorities of Trump voters are skewed beyond rational limits.
Yea, I see no correlation between protecting Taiwan and Afghanistan. For one, Taiwan will fight for the independence. They have a robust defense force willing to fight. Secondly, if China takes over Taiwan, the US is screwed. Taiwan makes 50% of the advanced chips that the US needs. Without these chips, our economy is dead.As they discuss in your video, the US military has no chance of success against China today. And not just because their military is bigger than the US. Afghanistan was not our opponent. We couldn't win in Afghanistan because we were actually fighting part of Pakistan but to actually fight that war would have gone nuclear.
It is effectively impossible to defeat an insurgent enemy that has a secure base of supply. Victory only comes from cutting off the supply, if that's non possible you're not going to win.
I can almost guarantee the chip fabs in Taiwan will not survive a Chinese takeover. The world will go without magic before any single superpower will be allowed to own it all.Yea, I see no correlation between protecting Taiwan and Afghanistan. Is it about chips or is it about democracy and Taiwan? It's actually all of the above. If chips weren't coming from Taiwan would we be so protective of Taiwan as the English were of Poland in 1939? It's a good question. Maybe this international trade thing is a good thing and will keep us all from masturbating ourselves to death.Yea, I see no correlation between protecting Taiwan and Afghanistan. Sarcasm and hyperbole noted. Well it certainly made me laugh...silly, ridiculous, and funny...as China doesn't have the sea power to project that far, as the US would engage and destroy. China may be able to well protect their coastal areas, but projecting that kind of power is a different animal. They have 2 aircraft carriers that are maybe 75% of our 11 carrier armada. And they are not nuclear, so they will need oilers in tow to keep them going.<snip>I am not a military expert, and I suspect neither are you. China invade Australia? Don't make me laugh.
Until you can make a convincing case that China can transport the necessary military personnel to conquer those coastal cities, your position is risible.I am not a military expert, and I suspect neither are you. But you don't need to. Conquer the coastal cities and the few people living inland will come to their senses pretty soon. The only substantial population center not on the coast itself is Canberra and it's not that far inland.
Australia is incredibly unpopular in South East Asia. And yet despite that, countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia etc definitely wouldn't tolerate such a move. Keep your Tom Clancy-esque porn in your pants.Taking over Tawain and/or Australia is only a matter of time,
Under the metric that Biden hastily withdrew US forces from there and the Taliban took power. What metric do you propose? You really think that Afghanistan defeated the US. Who did this? The Taliban? Under what metric?
I don't. But China (and many others) will be eating our lunch in a couple of decades if we do not stop this woke nonsense. And you honestly believe that the Chinese government believes in family values? Seriously?
Have you heard of Peng Shuai?
No, I don't consider a withdraw to be a military defeat. Do you consider Trump's withdraw from Syria to be a US defeat? By this Trumpian definition we were also defeated by Mexico, Spain, Chille, Cuba, Panama, Libya and the mighty country of Cameroon!Under the metric that Biden hastily withdrew US forces from there and the Taliban took power. You have states like California saying that because blacks and hispanics are not that good in math. Algebra and Calculus should be deemphasized while so-called "social justice" should be incorporated into math education. Politicizing math and science will not help US in 21st century global competition. Quite the opposite!
California educators battle over woke math
Have you heard of Peng Shuai?
Isn't that when you rearrange all your furniture to help some imaginary energy fluid flow better around it or something?
Yep! A fiasco, a huge flush of resources, et.al., but hardly a defeat, but to Neocon nation building fantasies. No, I don't consider a withdraw to be a military defeat. Are you kidding me? The Taliban are hyperwoke.(no woke allowed),
The standard definition of woke being spread around here is basically people complaining about something but not being willing to do anything about it. How does that apply to the Taliban? Are you kidding me? The Taliban are hyperwoke.(no woke allowed),
LOL...If I didn't know your posts that well, I'd think you were making a joke...alasAre you kidding me? The Taliban are hyperwoke.(no woke allowed),
How are they Woke? Are you kidding me? The Taliban are hyperwoke.(no woke allowed),

It would take an armada of "freighters" to transport sufficient troops which would be noticed. Really, your argument is ridiculous.Until you can make a convincing case that China can transport the necessary military personnel to conquer those coastal cities, your position is risible. But you don't need to. You expect them to play by the rules? Send them on freighters in peacetime. Declare war when they are already in port.
You could even have them at the 12 mile limit, there wouldn't be time to scramble naval strike aircraft.
"Wokeism" is all about identity politics. Taliban are woke, but they are a different flavor of woke. That seems to be clearly against Woke beliefs (not all Woke beliefs are wrong).
So the alt-right is "woke". LMAO."Wokeism" is all about identity politics. Taliban are woke, but they are a different flavor of woke. That seems to be clearly against Woke beliefs (not all Woke beliefs are wrong).
Well, Wokeism is really about anti-White and anti-West. Taliban may not be anti-White but they're certainly anti-West."Wokeism" is all about identity politics. Taliban are woke, but they are a different flavor of woke. That seems to be clearly against Woke beliefs (not all Woke beliefs are wrong).
Kind of, but not really. Of course I do not think they share many beliefs (such as feminism) with western wokes. But on a more fundamental level, something not captured in the dictionary definition you posted, wokeism is all about identity politics. And in that sense, US-wokes and the Taliban are rather similar. Both are about identity politics and collective action over self-determination of the individual.LOL...If I didn't know your posts that well, I'd think you were making a joke...alas
But wokes did do a lot. They burned down a lot of businesses in 2020 in the name of wokeism. Taliban also did a lot of destroying for their beliefs. The standard definition of woke being spread around here is basically people complaining about something but not being willing to do anything about it. How does that apply to the Taliban?
A military withdrawal where the enemy you ousted 20 years earlier triumphantly comes back into power is a defeat by any definition. No, I don't consider a withdraw to be a military defeat.
I think US actions re fight against the Caliphate were a success.Do you consider Trump's withdraw from Syria to be a US defeat?
How so? It's more comparable to Vietnam.By this Trumpian definition we were also defeated by Mexico, Spain, Chille, Cuba, Panama, Libya and the mighty country of Cameroon!
Yes, you are slowly starting to get it.So the alt-right is "woke". LMAO.
Xi is also against the West, but not at all Woke. And there are plenty of movements using "identity politics" that are not Woke, in the sense the word is generally used here; "Woke" is defined by ostension - one of those, not one of the others. And the Taliban seem to be about the others as far as I can tell.Well, Wokeism is really about anti-White and anti-West. Taliban may not be anti-White but they're certainly anti-West."Wokeism" is all about identity politics. Taliban are woke, but they are a different flavor of woke. That seems to be clearly against Woke beliefs (not all Woke beliefs are wrong).
Coupled with the fact Australia loses its collective shit whenever only one of these enters its waters :It would take an armada of "freighters" to transport sufficient troops which would be noticed. Really, your argument is ridiculous.
You're moving goal posts here. ISIS hasn't been totally defeated either. If Trump had pulled out of Afghanistan as he wanted to, would you have considered it a military defeat?A military withdrawal where the enemy you ousted 20 years earlier triumphantly comes back into power is a defeat by any definition. No, I don't consider a withdraw to be a military defeat.
I think US actions re fight against the Caliphate were a success.Do you consider Trump's withdraw from Syria to be a US defeat?
US actions re geopolitical threat of Russia and Iran were certainly not.
How so? It's more comparable to Vietnam.By this Trumpian definition we were also defeated by Mexico, Spain, Chille, Cuba, Panama, Libya and the mighty country of Cameroon!
Oh, you are quite woke when it comes to black people.Yes, you are slowly starting to get it.So the alt-right is "woke". LMAO.
This is why I am not right, alt or otherwise.
Well, regardless of the much to do about word definitions, my poking was more about 'family values' and previous references to such BS make believe nostalgia.Kind of, but not really. Of course I do not think they share many beliefs (such as feminism) with western wokes. It is confusing to me why people would want to live there. It's not the most ideal climate is it?Par for the course. USA has simply added its name to every other country that has ever tried to "defeat Afghanistan" (win in Afghanistan)When you can't even defeat Afghanistan after 20 years its ...
NONE of them have ever prevailed. Except maybe in the RVonse imagination, where it is apparently a minimal accomplishment to "defeat Afghanistan".
Oh yea! Good post. The Chinese government is just like the American government. They are near clones. The US government is addicted to "disappearing" political dissidents. They seek to conquer neighborhood countries (I favor going after Canada, love Red Mountain and Whistler). The US government won't allow other political parties to run. The government never changes. The government allows free enterprise as long as you pay enough bribes to the governing party. If not, you get disappeared. Girls can accuse people of sexual harassment, unless it's against someone in the government. No freedom of speech is allowed (no freedom at all). The censorship police are very important. No rights for gays (we don't have them people). Yep, countries are exactly alike!![]()
I'm just saying. Between the United States and China, tough call.
I have done business with Chinese companies before, and in my experience, they are like normal people from any industrial town. The one I knew best got squeaky excited over the dragon boat races, and you'd think it was like Christmas or Mardi Gras for her. I could imagine living next-door to such a person. The people that live there are just regular folk.
The Chinese government is kind of like the government of the United States...sometimes, I agree with them...other times, not so much.
Sorry, I was a little harsh. I love the Chinese people. I've been there several times. But their government is evil. There are no civil rights in China.Well, I am not sure about clones, but I know enough about the Chinese that I am pretty sure that the Chinese people are not marching around in gray uniforms or anything weird like that. They are just trying to survive like everybody.

But that does not address Harry Bosch's points. You said earlier "The Chinese government is kind of like the government of the United States...sometimes, I agree with them...other times, not so much.". He is challenging the claim that they are "kind of like" each other, not your claim that sometimes you agree with them and sometimes you do not (which seems pretty obviously true, so no much point in challenging it).I do not always agree with them.Sorry, I was a little harsh. I love the Chinese people. I've been there several times. But their government is evil.
