Whatever reason the pope has for going with the truth is his business. In the past, Popes have a very checkered history when it comes to lying to their flocks. I hasten to remind you that his flock is more than 1.2 Billion people. You don't have to like the rest of Catholic dogma to accept that the Pope now agrees the earth revolved around the Sun or that global warming is a fact. I regard this as a good development from a usually rotten source...count your blessings. He could have fallen in line with the Koch Bros.
The RCC has a long history of being a roadblock to understanding of the physical realities of our planet. It looks like the Pope wants to insure that his Vatican City and his followers don't get submerged. I give him credit for this...now let us talk about a woman's right to control what goes on in her body.
