Favorite super power or skill.
The ability to control one's own body. At the relatively realistic levels it equates to biofeedback techniques to adjust metabolism, dull pain, increase concentration, etc.; at superhuman levels, it amounts to Plastic Man level malleability, various degrees of shapeshifting, and ultimately at the extreme, Dr. Manhattan level control down to the subatomic level. Manhattan was so devoid of personality he never did anything more interesting with that power than self-duplication and size-shifting, but over the years, Plastic Man has demonstrated that he's basically deadlier and more durable than T-1000. Anything T-1000 can do to you, Plastic Man can do from several miles away.

A comic you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving.
The Boys. Although I'm a big fan of superhero comics with dark storylines and extreme sex and violence, Garth Ennis has always struck me as overly juvenile and prone to taking superficial cheap shots whenever he does parodies, so I didn't expect the long-term arcs to be as compelling as they turned out to be.

Stormwatch #37-50 by Warren Ellis and Tom Raney. Stormwatch is the story of a United Nations sponsored superhero group. Under Ellis's pen, it actually got interesting. Characters developed personalities, the team developed a direction, and the story began to incorporate political commentary from a non-US-centric perspective. It was the first superhero comic I'd ever read that had things to say about geopolitics that could actually be taken seriously.
