Good to see an effort being made to honor our men in blue who risk life and limb to protect our citizens and property from violent thugs, even if it is just a plaque. Its a refreshing and welcome change from the "Defund the Police", "Police are Pigs" and other disrepect that has been dished out over the last few years towards our police. Let's hope it continues.
ok, but what effort? I mean, look, the legislation was signed 3 years ago to put a plaque up. Imagine you went to a place, bought a plaque, ordered some engraved statement on it, and then asked your building maintenance or other fix-it guy to install the plaque. Would it take you 3 years, 2 years, 1 year, or 2 weeks?
If your system of administration is anything like ours it would take so many approvals to get such a seemingly simple task done.
The Wording committee would bicker over the words
The Placement committee would bicker over where to put it
The Budget committee would baulk at the project costs
The Colour committee would agonise over the colour of the frame vs. the colour of the actual plaque
The unions would demand a special site allowance to install it
