Rapper Blac Youngsta was arrested for taking money from his own account. The artist wanted to pay for a new car with cash so he withdrew money from his account. Then the bank manager called the police.

Despite racial considerations, won't banks always report a non-merchant transaction over a certain amount to authorities of some kind?

My, 5 post and no thug comment.Slackers!
But,the whole rapper bling thing is boring.

OK here we go

According to Sgt. Warren Pickard, Blac Youngsta's arrest came after a 911 call reported a man’s attempt to cash a forged check worth $24,000. Authorities claim they were given a “limited and conflicting” description of the suspect and his vehicle, which lead them to Youngsta and his entourage. Pickard added the rapper was only held “briefly,” and was released as soon as it became clear he had nothing to do with the complaint.

“It was quickly discovered that the person providing the description to police had provided the wrong description of the suspect,” Pickard wrote in an email. “It was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were not involved. They were immediately released.”

Pickard stated that the real suspect, 39-year-old Charles Darnell, was arrested and charged with first degree forgery after Youngsta was set free. “This incident did not directly involved Blac Youngsta, nor was he accused of committing a crime,” he said.

And now the bank is claiming that Benson doesn't have an account there. Yet no one is denying that Benson had the cash on him AND was detained outside of the bank.

Why did the bank manager call the police?

HE WAS A RACIST ASSHOLE...THAT IS WHY. The guy is lucky he is smart enough to not resist too much. They shoots fellers like them quite often. The bank manager did not think a person who looked like that should EVER have $200K. There is something about this particular situation that points toward ALL PLAYERS not being too bright.

I agree that this whole story is developing into a giant exercise in stupidity.

The bank reported an unrelated incident of someone trying to cash in a forged check. I don't see any wrongdoing on their part, it was the police who jumped to conclusions. What's odd is that the bank is now saying that Benson never even had an account at the bank. Maybe one of his entourage was the money man?

Well, no. They have the guy who tried to pass the bad paper. But apparently inside the bank was someone giving descriptions of every black man he or she had ever seen and that may have led the police to Benson. But that doesn't get the Police off the hook because the forger is being charged with ATTEMPTED passing a bad check, which means he didn't get the money and Benson was found with a great deal of money. So why would the police detain Benson once they saw the money?

Yeah, this should have caused a suspicious transaction report. That's not the same as calling the cops on him, though!

Yeah, the IRS.

See, that is what I would like to know.

No, it goes to FinCEN. (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.)

It depends on the transaction. There are all kinds financial transactions that will trigger all kinds of agencies to start all kinds of investigations.

None of which applies to this case. No one is disputing at present the legality of the money or Benson's possession of it.

Which sucks for the cops. If they could have found a way to show it was illegal, they could have confiscated it and bought themselves a sweet new tank or something.

Well it was Atlanta,right..just sayin .
Yes, the city run by a black mayor with a black police chief.

You were "just saying" exactly what?

By the way, I hope Mr. Youngsta uses some of that $200,000 to buy himself a shirt.

Derec,

Did you know that the drivers on plantations were black?

Drivers were the men who actually did the day to day whipping and watching of the slaves. Simply saying that someone is black is not enough to make them not work for the perpetuation of the white supremacist system.
