So is CPAC going the way of PETA and just saying stupid stuff to get attention?

As in they posted they are banning Seseme Street characters from their event. Is it trolling, are they trying to be funny, are they desperate for attention?

Oh, the reason was that Seseme Street (owned by HBO), had their characters get the Covid-19 vaccine. Apparently, getting vaccinated is political now.

Those haters of "cancel culture" seems to want to cancel Sesame Street. Along with critical race theory and other such supposedly villainous things.

More seriously, about QAnon and the return of JFK Jr., this seems to me like expecting the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. He has been a no-show for nearly 2000 years.

about QAnon and the return of JFK Jr.,
What the hell is that about anyway?
At first I thought it was something from the Onion, or SNL. Apparently not.

I'd Google for more information, but I'm out of brain bleach...

I mean, these are the people who thought Hillary Clinton was running a pedophile ring out of the basement of a New York pizza parlor that didn't actually have a basement. And that's the "sane" part.

JFK Sr and Jr. are still no shows. Maybe they should conjure up Marilyn first as bait.

We would all prefer adults not do that. I mean, maybe as a skit, or performance art? Something that'll be dropped before entering the voting booth, but seriously? Please, no.

Conspiracy theory-endorsing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced a bill this week to award Kenosha, Wisconsin, vigilante gunman Kyle Rittenhouse the Congressional Gold Medal.

The extremist Republican was immediately reminded on Twitter of a similar bill she voted against earlier this year that was passed and awarded Congress’s highest honor to the U.S. Capitol Police officers who risked their lives during the deadly Jan. 6 riot.

It's a way to end an argument I suppose., because I'm as confused as fuck. What does this mean, because Australian High Schools don't have metal detectors (except strangely the super rich private schools like Kings or Hills Grammar) we don't need a second amendment but you guys do because...? Also, and I'm trying to be as delicate as possible here, doesn't Cawthorn realise he is never going to follow his own advice?

Seriously, didn't Twitter up their character limit so there would be less incoherent rambling?

Wow. I'd make a snarky remark, but this is such a free kick.

Well, it's true. He's doing nothing to stop border crossers from South Africa.

The fact that there is no relevant border for them to slip across doesn't change that.

How can Biden be doing nothing if these people are being apprehended? This makes no sense.

The logic would seem to be that he needs to stop them before they enter illegally.

Is the idea to bomb South Africa? Because I am opposed to bombing any nation with a penguin population.

FTFY

Back in the 1980s, I used to see occasional 'weird news' columns in the English press, which talked of bizarre happenings - urban legends - as real things. These were almost always things that happened in Australia or New Zealand.

When I got to Australia, I discovered that Australian newspapers ran similar stories, but that these stories always took place in the UK or Ireland.

The editors had column inches to fill, so they put in harmless but entertaining fiction set far enough away as to make checking the purported facts impractical for their readers.

The only differences today are that the fiction is no longer as harmless; And that the rise of the Internet has proven that it was never so much that it was difficult that prevented people from fact checking, rather it is that people don't want to check. The typical approach to truth is to decide whether you want to believe or disbelieve a claim, and then declare it true (or false) without further investigation.

That's likely always been the case. The internet just makes it more blatant.

Are they illegally pole vaulting across the Atlantic Ocean?

Africans (Kenyans, at least) are known for running fast. They're running across the ocean.

(And, yes, go fast enough and you can run across water. For something human sized in Earth's gravity that's far above maximum running speed, though.)

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell expressed despair over the weekend after his proposed election lawsuit failed to get the support of a single state attorney general.

During his 96-hour "Thanks-A-Thon" broadcast on Sunday, Lindell admitted that he was "frustrated" after he had lashed out at a Christian radio network just one day earlier.

"You know how many people have worked hard giving up everything they had because they know this country is gone," Lindell opined. "I was angry, it came out wrong -- probably came out wrong -- angry and I'm frustrated. I've had it."

"It's like we've worked so hard here," he continued, "working so hard to get to something that should have been so simple. Open up the [voting] machines. Of course, every state was illegal."

Umm...Rand, you're saying the quiet part out loud again. People might think you're against voting or something.

People get stranded on the highway, and the first place his mind goes is #BLM?

*checks the tweet*

Oh gosh, it is even worse. I gave the guy too much credit. He took a picture of a local road with a coating of snow. What a dumbass. Let's go Brody.

Meanwhile, winning remark is "Watch out for that dangerous black ice, David".

Tucker Carlson smacks a jellyfish like smacking a puppy with a rolled up newspaper.

"Bad Cruz, bad bad Cruz."
Can't pass the purity test. Cruz is a TINO.

*What's with Tucker needing terrorists to to be "foreign combatants" to be labeled "terrorists"? Violence for a political goal = terrorist.

*From the reading. I can't watch a Tucker & Ted video. I just can't.

First impulse response: Just because it is on Twitter doesn't make it real.

Well, I really feel bad for Plantation Shutters who might be getting a bunch of phone calls despite not being the company who did this.

So, if you support Biden but aren't a liberal... can you call them?

Who, or what company, did?

I'm not a bonafide liberal, and I've no interest in their products. I never considered calling them until this post.

Maybe I should, just to see who they think is responsible for the advertising. But I hate to clog up their phone lines if this really is a bunch of internet crap.

Fox is staying radio silent on a report that former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani — more recently remembered for his part in encouraging a coup against the elected United States president on Jan. 6, 2021 — was revealed as a contestant during a recent taping of its reality competition series “The Masked Singer.” The unmasking apparently sparked outrage from some members of the show’s regular panel of judges, who perhaps weren’t fans of Giuliani trying to rehab his image on the show.

On Wednesday afternoon, Deadline reported that Giuliani was unmasked during the show’s production last week, prompting judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke to leave the stage in protest. According to the report, the pair eventually returned to rejoin judges Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger to continue the taping and stage a brief discussion with Giuliani.

That these people think the best way to restore their credibility is by going on reality TV speaks volumes.
