Got Debian LXDE to work as I wanted 11.02s boot on an i3, no SSD, no swap, autologin, 4GB memory, ethernet without WICD or NetworkManager services.
Last problem: systemd-ask-password-plymouth.path.

Startup finished in 4.331s (kernel) + 6.690s (userspace) = 11.022s
graphical.target reached after 6.676s in userspace
