Debt: The fabric of our lives

Yeah, it's been a tough thread for me. Called out and put in my place. Suffering the merciless sting of personal attacks and content-free gibes from the forum's leading intellectual lights.

Generally this forum doesn't like contrary views. Liberals are no different from the religious right in that they don't like their dogmas challenged!

Nonsense.

Liberals encourage challenging of everything.

Maybe certain individuals on this board don't.

LOL.... good one.

That is the core of liberalism, to continually question all existing structures.

Nothing is above review.

If people are forbidding this they are not liberals.

Aside from your ridiculous "no true liberal" claim, a challenge to any of the liberal's beliefs will evoke a knee jerk reaction and often a stream of personal attacks and invectives.

People that are obnoxious think it is everyone else.

And I give a clear definition of liberal thinking so your comment of no true liberal displays no willingness to even read.

I read it. It was a version of the "no true Scotsman" fallacy.

I then pointed out that liberals are not willing to examine their own dogma. They are only willing to "examine" that which their dogma tells them is "evil". This is the same as the far right - never willing to examine their own dogmatic beliefs.

So you say.

But since you only say and don't in any way demonstrate there is nothing for me to respond to.

Change occurs because of the liberal tendency in some humans. The people willing to question everything.

The conservative tendency fights change. It defends the status quo no matter what status quo it finds itself in.

:hysterical:

I love that you pretend to not recognize the blatant fallacy.

However, you left this out.

They love it so much that they just might use their power to conduct an investigation against you and force you to resign your position for doing it.

Nobody was forced to resign by Warren.

She didn't have the power.

Are you as concerned with all the people fired every year illegally for trying to form a union in the workplace?

What are your examples of all these liberals forbidding examination of their dogma?

Read the fucking political discussions forum.

So you have nothing.

I'm like Charlie Brown. I keep thinking you will one day back up a claim, always to be fooled.

No, I just see no sense in getting into another of your asinine pissing matches where you pretend to not understand. I know you can read. Whether you are intelligent to recognize what you read for what it is is another question. There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of examples that you are asking for at your fingertips.

You are nothing but one lame excuse after another.

How the hell does anybody stop investigation of any thought on these boards?

Are you saying criticism of your ideas is forbidden?

Whether this is more of your pretend ignorance or the real thing, thanks for the chuckle.

Pot calling the kettle black - now that's a new one for conservatives.

I think you're confusing liberalism and skepticism.

A liberal has skepticism about everything.

A liberal has beliefs, and even beliefs that are not likely to be overturned, but no beliefs are held with absolute certainty.

This is opposed to the dogmatist that is certain about everything.

Of course nobody is a pure liberal, people fit along the spectrum between skepticism (liberal thinking) and certainty (dogmatic thinking).

When you post your little cartoon it is always the sign you have nothing to say.

Your ideas are mostly a bunch of nonsense that you refuse to defend and when the going gets tough you post a stupid cartoon like a three year old.
