Well, Arizona joins other states that are trying to make it harder for people to vote. In Arizona, they apparently feel free to make any number of absurd statements regarding this. This includes the Republican that chairs the Government and Elections Committee.

"There's a fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans," Kavanagh said. "Democrats value as many people as possible voting, and they're willing to risk fraud. Republicans are more concerned about fraud, so we don't mind putting security measures in that won't let everybody vote -- but everybody shouldn't be voting."

Democrats value as many people as possible voting. This is a bad thing?

Meanwhile... "everybody shouldn't be voting". Like women?

He pointed to Democrats' emphasis on registering voters and pursuing those who have not returned ballots -- tactics that Republicans have successfully implemented in other swing states -- and said doing so means that "you can greatly influence the outcome of the election if one side pays people to actively and aggressively go out and retrieve those ballots."

Yes... turnout matters.

But let's get to the jewel.

"Not everybody wants to vote, and if somebody is uninterested in voting, that probably means that they're totally uninformed on the issues," Kavanagh said. "Quantity is important, but we have to look at the quality of votes, as well."

Quality of the vote. You really want to go there with Trump's base? The dumbest of all bases?

We aren't supposed to live with fear of a virus, but voter fraud? Fear that. Fear it bigly! We can't risk people from foreign nations like Guam voting in Arizona's election, so we need to pass laws that shorten early voting, which totally would reduce the chances of people from Guam voting in Arizona.

There is evidence of widespread election fraud and voter suppression, however; overwhelmingly to the advantage of Republicans -- gerrymandering, polling place manipulation, voting machine problems, I.D. laws, and, most significantly, various voter purge schemes.
