Disney's Frozen is coming for your manhood

Never mind the manhood; what the fuck were they doing with the laws of thermodynamics?? This is supposed to be a movie for kids. Do we really want our children to grow up thinking that heat energy can be arbitrarily destroyed or created by an act of will???? Where will it all end??????

Too late for that!

I would agree that Black Widow does not count, but I think Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy is at least arguable.

I think you may have forgotten about Elektra (okay, there is probably good reason for that). The trend is starting to change, though. We have Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) movies upcoming, as well as series' for Jessica Jones (Power Woman) and Supergirl. Of course I am sure that Fox will throw a fit over each one of those in turn over the next few years.

That's not really my point. I think it's bizarre to say that *one* movie will destroy boys, but girls get to watch plenty of films involving boys and men acting "boyish" or "manly", and grow up fine?

I don't disagree, I just like to geek out over comics, and by extension, comic book movies. :)

I am elated that the only thing my wife wants for valentine's day is for me to take her to the movie bistro to see Kingsmen, which is based on the Marvel comic Secret Service. It has been decades coming, but I have finally even gotten her to read a few comic books in recent years.

But in the absence of any one else's concepts is there any real use of that concept for yourself? Can you not just live as who you are and not worry about defining oneself by concepts of who you think you ought to be?

I'd be very surprised if any individual's concept of "manhood" is not significantly influence by others' concept of it.

If you don't live by a concept of who you think you ought to be, what else is there?

A real man takes a concept of manhood and makes it his own, in a manly way. Fuck what anybody else says and no Disney cartoon is going to make a difference.

Then it's not "manhood," it's "bronzeagehood." The word manhood typically implies that all men, to be manly, should be this way. If it doesn't apply to all men, then a better descriptor is indicated, yanno? People use "manhood" to project onto other men.

I totally agree that a person should make their own definition for self of good things to be. But for me to call that "womanhood" immediately claims that other women are judged by it, that I am judging my womanness by it. What is womanness but the thing that I supposedly share with all other women? Or that is an aspiration for all beings that are woman and seek hood?

Do you read The Wicked + The Divine? I picked up the first 5-issue compendium the other day. It's really good.

I haven't read it yet, but I do have that trade paperback on my short list. The only Image titles I keep up with right now are Manifest Destiny, and Copperhead. Both are great non-superhero comics, and Manifest Destiny in particular has some amazing artwork.

Those look good. I'll look for them this weekend and give them a try.

I also chop down trees with an ax, if that helps.

And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

Would you like to come up and see my collection of pressed wildflowers?

I thought you were rugged!

Let me put it this way: I am on the "International List of People Nobody Fucked With Twice".

Nope, I think we can see from the picture that he's letting his hair do its thing naturally.

It took years to get it to behave like this.

Sorry to hear your women do not come back for seconds. :)

I have tried to have a one night stand many times, but there was always a two night stand and then a three night stand. It just never seems to end.
