DNC - Convention in Philadelpia - Are you ready to Rock?

Are you kidding? He sounds like Ned Flanders or the Vice Chair of your local chamber of commerce...he's at least hitting on Trump's misdeeds. "How about this"...such weak phrasing.

The best speech's were from the old guard: Bill, Michelle, and Barrack. The farm team does not look good.

Don't worry. Bill is Secretary of State and Obama is on the Supreme Court. Clinton has a competent team around her and won't be like Trump who just kind of does things on his own by being generically great.

Frankly, I am no longer sure the Trump won't win. He's 6 points ahead, a rather large convention bounce. The GOP authoritarians have quashed all party dissent, and the drones love Herr Trump...

We may be entering a terrifying new era of Trump ... Putin's shill.

I still don't think it will be close. I have faith in your countrymen despite all they do to destroy that faith.

I do not have such faith. A majority of independents now support Trump, and I doubt Hillary can generate the turnout (especially among the young and minorities) that benefited Obama. Moreover, Trump has an ace in the hole - he could lose the popular vote and win the electoral vote.

Many blue voters are more concentrated in blue states. California, for example, has Hillary with a plus 30 percent over Trump. However, any votes over 51 percent are "wasted"...she will get a fixed number of electoral votes regardless how BIG her wins are in NY, California, and the handful of high population deep blue states.

So the battleground states are what matters. And while she might carry Ohio or Florida (against all odds) Trump might steal Penn.

By the way, Obama delivered in his speech. Great stagecraft at this moment.

Four more years!

I'm a sucker for this stuff.

But man, Obama makes Trump look like a fucking mite.

Yep, but he won't be the one debating Trump.

You make it sound like it is their aim to destroy your faith. Consequences are not always intended consequences, nor is ignorance the explanation in the absence of intention.

Go Trump!

Eta: :p

Planet Hillary cleared her orbit early.

Dude went full Obama on that one.

Kaine, on the other hand, is now boring them to death - bad news for Dems in the VP debates.
That's ok. Mike Pence is not exactly Mr. Excitement himself. It's going to be Ben Stein from Ferris Bueller vs. Professor Hastings from the Sesame Street.

Like Tom Sawyer, I still have faith that Hillary will pull this thing out.

The electoral maps everywhere I look favor her and I think Trump has peaked. We have three months and at least one debate (I don't think Trump will do more than one) that'll put Drumpf under a national spotlight that he can't dictate or run away from. I also think Hillary's campaign hasn't really started on him as forcefully as they will.

Cenk Uyger made an interesting point today.

"Who ever this election is about will lose."

If Trump and/or his campaign can make this an election about Hillary Clinton, Clinton loses. If Clinton and/or her campaign can make this about Trump, Trump loses.

This is what happens when the two most hated people in a country are then pitted against each other in that nation's biggest popularity contest. The question becomes, who do you hate more.

Looking forward, this is going to get really nasty.

You know you've got a serious problem with the only reason to vote for your candidate (Hillary) is because she isn't as bad a fascist as the other guy running. When both candidates have massive negatives and no positives.... you need to change your system. Both Jill Stein and Gary Johnson are leaps and bounds better than Hillary and Trump, and your national polls show them to be more popular as well. The only reason people vote democrat and republican is because they fear the 2 party system.

Well, I think that we know what we're going to get with HRC. We're going to get an administration that will govern somewhere similar to how the Obama and Bill Clinton administrations governed. I'm biased, but I believe that the Trump administration will be loud, unpredictable, and chaotic.

Uyger isn't talking about governing, he's talking about negative campaigning and how the camp that does it better will be the winner. And I agree with him. All things being equal and with no extraordinary circumstances, negatives will determine this election.

And to me, THAT is a scary state of affairs for this country.
