Donald Trump's cyber-security advisers resign warning of 'insufficient attention to the growing threats'

'Your actions have threatened the security of the homeland,' experts tell President

Eight of Donald Trump's cyber-security advisers have resigned, warning the President had "given insufficient attention to the growing threats" facing the US.

A quarter of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council's 28 members quit with a joint letter in which they claimed Mr Trump "threatened the security of the homeland".

They cited his response to white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, the country's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the vulnerability of the US election process.

Well, the main cyber security threat is fat guys in their parents' basement, so it's not a big deal.

I have mixed emotions on this one. On the one hand, the message sent is good. On the other hand, all the competent people quitting so important security positions are either unfilled or filled with incompetent yes-men is not comforting.

The CIA, the NSA, the Pentagon, and the FBI still have their people.
These are just the people Trump would have turned to for advice if he wanted to, say, make elections more secure from foreign intrusion...

So chances are, they aren't jumping from an embattled ship so much as walking away from a hulk in drydock...
