This has landslide written all over it. Romney won Texas by about 1.3 million votes. A 6 pt victory would be roughly 0.5 million.Latest polls show that in red, red, red Texas, Trump now leads by 6% over Clinton. Trump is still ahead, but not by an conceivable lead. A couple of more goofs and bad debates could possibly turn Texas blue here. One can dream......
A previous Texas poll was about 11 pts for Trump, so the PPP poll could be an outlier. Looking under the hood, I think maybe the poll indicates a better lead for Trump, but it is depressed from Romney's margin of victory.
We'll see if there are other polls. I still believe that Texas has some seats for the Democrats, which can help swing the House.
Again, we can count on more Trump screw ups. And maybe, maybe, a last month obvious loss that depresses the GOP vote. "He's blown it, why bother to vote." Maybe, maybe, a political miracle may happen. Again we can all dream.
