Elizabeth Warren's DNA Test

I think it was in the Sopranos where they met up once with a guy who ran a casino because he "discovered" during the bidding process that he had an ancestor from the tribe a bunch of generations back and gave the tribal chiefs enough cash for them to agree with the results of his research so that he could open the place.

But now with egg on their face, I'm certain the right-wingers will show grace, admit error, and move forward. *sigh*

Your source is dated and wrong. According to a recent review
That's what they claim now. But it doesn't pass the smell test. They didn't consider her "minority status" when they hired her, but touted her "minority status" in brochures once she was hired. Sure, whatever you say.

We know these universities engage in "affirmative action" not only when admitting students but also in hiring. I am sure they thanked their lucky stars tehy could use Pochachontas there to fill their "minority" quotas.

This whole business goes to show why so-called "affirmative action" is so wrong. Especially when universities discriminate in favor of feather Indians but against dot Indians.

I don't like that she gave in to this idiocy, just like Obama did too with his birth certificate.
But now with egg on their face, I'm certain the right-wingers will show grace, admit error, and move forward.
What error? The test shows that she has, at most, an infinitesimal amount of Indian blood. But even that is uncertain, given the vagueness of these genetic tests.
Take mtDNA haplogroups for an example.

A bit messy.

Warren stated that according to her mother, she had Indian ancestry. The far right including Trumpalini loudly claimed she was a liar and that was not true. Now it is proven true. Trumpalini demanded she take a DNA test in rather nasty manner. She did. She does have DNA that demonstrates she has some Indian ancestry.

Trump foolishly stated that if Warren took a DNA test and demonstrated that, he would donate $1 million to Warren's favorite charity. On the hook for $1 million Trump now lies that he never made that offer, even though he did and it is an easily found video on the internet. He is a liar's liar. And if he dodges this, it will be something he will be held up for ridicules until the day he goes down to defeat in 2020.

Trump will be razzed over this until he pays off or goes down to defeat. Bigot, liar and cheater. Any time he mewls "Pocahantas" he will remind people he is a chronic liar.

So you are saying that while they did advertise her as a "minority" hire, the decision to hire her had zero to do with her claimed "minority" status?

Actually, that's it, exactly.

The whole thing came about because someone asked her informally if she didn't say one time that according to family, they had Native American ancestry. This was long after she was hired at probably her third academic posting. I'm pretty sure that they (school admin) used that family legend to inflate their diversity stats but it was never anything she intended.

I am saying that you are attempting to present a totally false picture of the actual facts.

Moreover, your hobby-horse whinging about women and minorities has nothing to do with the fact that Trump (and Scott Brown) have shown their racist backsides by claiming that they can look at Elizabeth Warren and state categorically that she has no Native American ancestry because she looks white.

DNA proves them factually wrong.

Multiple investigative reports prove you wrong as well.

....
The first-term Democratic senator’s critics have accused Warren of advancing her career by claiming minority status as a descendant of Cherokee and Delaware tribes. Warren was born in Oklahoma and went on to become a professor at Harvard Law School
...

Harvard University’s decision to hire Warren as a law professor in the 1990s was not based on any assertion that she has Native American heritage, The Globe found. The newspaper reported that interviews and documents show the issue was not considered by Harvard Law faculty or those who admitted Warren to law school at Rutgers or to jobs at The University of Houston, The University of Texas, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Looks like we have shifted from Warren has no Native American lineage to, she doesn't have enough and Harvard / Affirmative Action is evil.

Instead of paying up on his offer, Trump should provide proof he's worth over $10 billion, which he claimed during the campaign.

Because of that, Fuck Face Von Clownstick has now spent years insulting Native Americans in his attempts to belittle and shame a strong woman he feels threatened by.

Good post but I'm giving you a D- because Fuckface is all one word.
:p

The people who voted on the hire are not the people who made the brochure. In any event, you have not produced one iota of actual evidence to rebut the Boston Globe's findings. Your link relies on Breitbart and innuendo, not facts.

Sounds a bit like something from the old Destroyer book series. A CIA department, in order to inflate diversity stats claimed they had "a black, a woman, and someone named Gonzalez", which turned out to be one person: Ruby Gonzalez.

Wow! People are seriously debating the ethnic purity of a politician, so the time machine must have worked!!

Just wait until I tell all you guys here in the 1930s about the wonders of the year 2018. But first of all, who will offer me 40-1 odds against Battleship winning the '38 Grand National?

Looks like we have shifted from Warren has no Native American lineage to, she doesn't have enough and Harvard / Affirmative Action is evil.

a) These tests do not prove she has any native american lineage. She still has no known native American ancestors.
b) These tests do not prove she was eligible to claim she was Native American on any employment forms. It is absolutely positively undisputed that she did not. She's white.

It's also clear that the notion that she tried to make any kind of hay by claiming that heritage is a whole-cloth invention of the right wingers who will lie about anything to discredit someone of her stature and integrity.
But keep on harping - it makes it easier for you to fit in the pigeonhole.

Well, it's been established some people were out there touting her as a diversity hire. So we are just left to ponder why a woman as white as a bar of ivory soap was being touted as a diversity hire.

And to consider who should pay for this crime against diversity, since obviously she didn't bring the touted diversity to the table.

Heck, even my brother's DNA test came back 2% Indian despite no known Indian ancestors.
