Ever notice that a lot of verbal memes involve "poor " grammar?

Seems to me that a lot of English grammar is stilted and repetitive. These verbal memes are more efficient nad get even more meaning across.

A lot of these verbal memes drop the excessive articles (the, a, an, his, her) from these sayings. These articles are proper, but surely are not needed to convey meaning.

One I can think of now is "some desired event/collaboration when?

This is excellent use of syntax to convey meaning and anticipation, even if garbage grammar officially.

If anyone has created a meme, the first thing one realizes is space is limited. It has nothing to do with grammar or lack of it, just getting the words on the screen.

Language is fluid and driven by usage. Grammar changes as usage changes, although often slowly as those who value rules over everything resist and, of course, the institutionalizing of rules obscure the fluid, living nature of language and make change come even slower.

Not that I have a problem with rules. Restrictions and boundaries, no matter how arbitrary, force people to think about their use of language and that means forcing a different level of awareness of one's own thoughts. Rules are just not what's important about language usage.

One more thought. Turns out it's young girls who drive language the most, particularly slang, but language usage in general.

The world is changing fast due to technology and communication is the ruler over rules. If "bad usage" is bothering anyone, I would invite them to maybe take a wider view and learn to accept change and ambiguity. Changes that seem to reflect a lack of skill are more usefully (and realistically) understood as transitioning language usage to something more practical to the people using it and the world they live in.

Sorry to burst the bubbles of anyone attached to their judgements of people based on grammar.
