In the never ending fight to make our nation a sociopathic utopia, Florida passed a bill that does a lot of stuff, such as making the removal of statues a punishable crime equivalent to that of say 2nd Degree Murder.
article said:
The law also increases penalties for taking down monuments, including Confederate ones, making the offense a second-degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

And just so that people don't fear being caught in a protest in their car, The state also will provide civil immunity to those that drive over protestors blocking a road.
article said:
On Monday, Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed an “anti-riot bill” into law that, among other things, grants civil immunity to people who decide to drive their cars into protesters who are blocking a road.
Apparently Oklahoma also wants to make running over protestors who are blocking a road kosher as well.

I can't see such a law standing up in court. Maybe in judge Arapio Yokel's courtroom on the first pass, but I can't see it being upheld. It's worse than Stand Your Ground. It says you can legally kill people by running them over who are blocking your vehicular path. Sounds too extreme.

To be fair, we’d have to analyze the life choices and or preexisting medical and drug conditions of the people who ended up blocking your car, because it’s likely they were about to die anyway. /s

No--it exempts them from civil liability, not criminal liability.

However, if it was a proud boy running over a black--think charges would be filed?

Why in the world should someone be exempt from civil liability for a crime they committed?
