Fred Phelps definitely didn't die in vain. Without his guiding wisdom we might actually have gays allowed to marry! Thanks to Phelps, gays are now back in the closet and can't serve in the military. The gay rights movement is dead! Plus there are zero divorces and no abortions anymore thanks to him. He was truly the creator of our modern homophobic society. Thanks, Fred!
