Dutch is a strange language. When somebody sneezes, the Dutch will say "Prost!", which is the same thing they say when drinking a toast. So a Dutch friend of mine, everytime an English speaker sneezed, would say "Cheers!" I found it so funny, it was a long time before I told him he'd got it wrong. I didn't tell him he should say "bless you", though; I gave him the secular (and, randomly, German) alternative "gesundheit". So much better to wish someone health, even in a foreign language, than to come out with that religious bullshit.
