ALBANY, NY -- With the pixels barely dry on the news announcing Gov. Cuomo's resignation, National Guard forces in Massachusetts and Connecticut have lined the border with New York. Officials for the two New England states would not confirm whether they intended to invade, only noting that the presence of their National Guard troops was merely "a defense posture". Rumors of an amassing group of Volvos and Subarus from Vermont in the Adirondacks could not be confirmed.

The State of New York is one of the wealthiest states in the union and to add that territory to either Massachusetts and/or Connecticut would greatly add to their already established riches. While early in the chaos, tensions already appear to be rising between Massachusetts and Connecticut as fears have always existed that a takeover of New York would lead to a Hudson River showdown with Massachusetts damming the river for a large Hydro-electric plant.

Officials in New York are scurrying to fill the void left by the former Governor in order to control the situation and project a position of power. There are doubts however that the Lt. Governor will be able to project the strength of Gov. Cuomo that held Massachusetts and Connecticut back, who personally beheaded ten alleged spies from Connecticut.
