Reminds me of the claim "an armed society is a polite society"...
yea, it is a politeness born out of fear. The fear that anyone you interact with could be a total psychopath, ready to kill at the slightest provocation, so you act polite so as not to trigger them. Of course, since many of the gun culture advocates are also anti-political correctness... want to speak their mind no matter how much it offends others... how is that supposed to work?
