I’d like to bring a couple of topics together here. On the one hand, there’s the topic of needing a living wage for US citizens and all of the problems caused by extreme wealth disparity. On the other hand is illegal immigration and the strain it puts on existing social systems.
I’m going to posit that it’s not reasonable to think that both problems can be satisfactorily solved simultaneously. So which topic do you guys think is the more important one, and why? And in order to focus on that problem, what from the other topic would you be willing to set aside from consideration for a few years? Hypothetically speaking, of course - I don’t have any illusion that either will be addressed in a reasonable way within my lifetime.
