A shocking video out of Tennessee shows a woman being dragged out of a bar by her hair after reportedly refusing to wear a face mask.

The footage, captured at the Chattanooga Billiard Club, shows local resident Bliss Causby being removed by a female security guard following an altercation between the pair.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

I didn't watch the video, but was she not wearing the mask as an oversight? I really have no regard for anyone who intentionally dosn't wear a mask. If you intentionally don't wear a mask - you are an asshole. Period. You don't care about others and you don't care if you hurt others.

An oversight that can get people killed, sure.

The article at the link says '...after reportedly refusing to wear a face mask.'

The article doesn't state whether or not a refusal to wear a mask actually occurred. What it did say was

Users on Instagram responded to Causby's post with mixed responses. Some argued that the security guard's actions were entirely unwarranted, while others (Instagram Users) expressed little sympathy given her apparent refusal to wear a mask.

I added the bold and underline. If I were on the jury with only the evidence provided in the article I'd have no choice but to side with the customer dragged out by the hair. Surveillance footage and witness accounts are needed on this one.

I guess it would be damn inconvenient dropping your mask every time you wanted to take a drink. It would get old pretty quick. If people would learn to drink at home we'd have far fewer problems all around. Or invite your fellow drunken idiots over to drink if you must. Bars are for socializing. We're not suppose to be socializing. The whole thing is ridiculous. It's like why do bars even have parking lots if it's illegal to drink and drive? Yeah, like I'm just going to have one drink an hour so I can safely drive home. Gimme a break. What a dicked up society.

Just drink at home. Drink and Zoom if you have to have someone to whine to. Jesus H. Christ! Home is great. Beer, weed, food, clean bathroom. It's glorious.
But no, its; "How dare you inconvenience me. Don't you know I'm precious".

You stay home, nobody is forcing you to go to a bar.

Really? If she were asked to put a mask on, and put it on, they wouldn't have dragged her out.
Seriously, it's only at the point where people put up a fight and start screaming about their 'rights' that gets them kicked out of businesses.

Let's say you're a decent human being and you legit forgot your mask (I've done it a couple times). Some random store employee calls to you that you need a mask as you're coming in the door. You have a few choices:
1. You can go back to your vehicle and get yours (assuming it's there).
2. You can ask the store for a disposable (this is what I did, as I had left mine in my other vehicle) and the store gives you one.
3. You throw a fit about your rights, or claim some bullshit 'health' excuse and get your ass thrown out.

Your analogy is poor because it doesn't share enough similarities to what was provided in the article. But don't let that stop you from feeling right.

I'll bite anyway, who's to say she didn't have a mask? IF she didn't, how did she get past security to the point that she needed to be dragged out? Is security not at the door or is it the security that checks for masks after patrons enter the establishment (sounds possible but odd to me). In the article, the claim is that she refused to wear a mask and she claims that she did not have it on at that moment because she was drinking. It's reasonable to believe that she had a mask (being that she got past security) & the argument was actually about that dispute (having it on at that moment) and escalated when the security took it to the next level. But the article doesn't provide any proof of that nor does it provide proof she didn't have a mask (even the footage doesn't show her face at all). This article is written in a way that conjecture is all the reader can go on and will maximize retweets because anyone with a bias has enough info to match said bias.

Refused.

Hopefully the "security guard" will be charged with assault. Outrageous behavior.

The only thing that was outrageous is that a bar was open in the first place. The security guard removed a threat.

From the Instagram post linked from the OP article:
Last weekend I went out to a bar after dinner to play pool with friends.. I was standing next to my table drinking a beer and a lady security cop asked me to leave for not having on my mask .. I questioned her and she became very aggressive and pushed me.. I told her not to put her hands on me that I would leave and this happened.. she threw me down and dragged me across the bar on the floor like an animal..what this video taken by a bystander @barstoolmocs does not show is that she proceeded to punch me in the face and head and kick me.. I was kicking at her ankles trying to get loose afraid that she was going to throw me down the stairs.. my guy friend finally pulled me up and took me out.. I should’ve called the police but was humiliated and hysterical and just wanted to go home!!..this bitch was out of control and I want her to be held accountable!!.. what can I do??.. CBC will not give me their footage without a subpoena and claim to not know the name of the security company?!.. all I know is that the lady’s name is Linda and she is the owner of the security company.. can anyone help?! No one deserves to be treated that way!!
#excessiveforce

She claims to not have been wearing a mask while not seated.
She claims to being asked to put on a mask by a "security cop".
She claims to have "questioned" the "security cop" about the requirement.
...
She claims the "security cop" immediately assaulted her by dragging her out of the bar
She says she was "kicking her" while she was being held by the "security cop" because she was afraid
She claims to have been punched in the face and experience other harm.

I think her story is missing some detail where I left an elipsus.

I learned this past week that “reportedly” means you’re making things up or repeating hearsay from your uncle’s cousin’s girlfriend’s hairdresser.

Hard ro imagine the security guard needing that kind of force. Doesn’t seem right to me. Need more info.

I’m trying to picture a scenario where dragging out a patron is the right thing to do, ever, and I’m coming up with a pretty short list - that would have been part of this story.

Waiting for more before thinking i can side with someone besides the person dragged. (Even if she is likely a dickhead “my freedums” type)

True Communism™ requires us to drag out such people by force, comrade.

So much for your pseudo-libertarian pretense that you have any regard for people rights to protect their individual property and lives of those rightfully on it. The second a person requested to put on a mask fails to either do so or leave the premises, they become a criminal trespasser engaging in behavior that puts other patrons at risk, just like a person throwing objects around the room at other people would be.

You stay home, nobody is forcing you to go to a bar.
I see your 8 year old conception of civilized society has not changed in the 10 months you've been spouting that mantra. If you are not willing to follow the rules, then you stay at home, no one is forcing to go to a bar, and the bar has every right to forcibly remove you for criminal trespass if you insist on posing a danger to others.

A refusal to either mask or leave when asked is equivalent to someone throwing glassware and bottles around the bar or some predator copping feels on a waitress. They are a criminal trespasser putting others in danger and have refused to stop doing so. That alone makes putting hands on the person warranted to escort them out, and if they resist then you get to that escalation pretty quick.

LOL. If that had been a black person on the receiving end rather than a "white Karen" you'd be taking to the streets or a knee or something. You're full of shit. This is the behavior of bullies and thugs so don't lecture me about civilized society.
