If Trump does use nukes (as of last year he wasn't clear on why we don't use them, since we have them), the ongoing consequences will of course be long-term, devastating, and unpredictable. But I predict this: it would have no significant consequences for the GOP. These vampires have mojo. They propagandize themselves, pray themselves, pledgeofallegiance themselves out of every disaster and cul de sac. It's never their fault. Not the Iraq War, not Isis, not the Great Recession, not the debt: none of it. And their followers now have the self-appointed luxury of disbelieving the "fake" news and living in their world of fog and the screeching pronouncements of Orangey the Nuclear Clown. This will be a rich era for historians to analyze.
