Images that make you laugh

:ROFLMAO: The shape of the sonar image didn't match the shape of AE's plane well at all, so I was highly skeptical when I first saw the image a while back. I figured it was a different kind of plane, though, not a rock! And AE was not an amazing pilot. She actually wasn't that impressive at all.

She just needed to work on her landings.

People here will like this bumper sticker I saw on a Tesla the other day.

Photoshopped*, but a nice thought. :)
No, those bumper stickers are real. Perhaps that particular picture is photoshopped for some reason, though. If you want one, you can get one here:

Tesla bumper sticker

I live in a very blue area of the country, and Teslas are a dime-a-dozen around here. I've always wondered if some of the Tesla owners are suffering from cognitive dissonance. The bumper sticker conveniently gives them kind of a free pass out of the mind fuck. I can think of one woman I know who has a Tesla car and Tesla Powerwall batteries and had over the top hatred for Trump, when I last saw her a few years ago. I wonder how she is dealing with that now.

That’s a bumper sticker with “reverse out” lettering. The pic is of lettering, supposedly applied to the car. But that part of that car is slightly concave and the lettering doesn’t follow the concavity.
Now - moving on to other pressing matters… it’s still funny!

I know that woman! She and her husband live right across the river. Hates Trump, has a Tesla car and the full Tesla home backup electrical thingy. I see her at the mailbox regularly. I believe she thinks she’s saving the planet.

Probably the same way when I see Kevin Spacey in a movie I thought he did a great job in.

The fact is Musk has issues that includes a lot more exposure. We know more about him now. We've learned he is a shit manager and doesn't care one wit for employees. We've learned that at Tesla he exploits social media and grossfully (needlessly) overhypes things and then underproduces (ie he lies). This doesn't speak of those that work at Tesla or SpaceX. But he has a very negative image as a corporate leader, despite making some very tangible contributions (at least as a private equity financer).

Add the whole Twitter thing and politics and things get very awkward. Musk is one of a long line of "never meet your hero" sorts of people.
