Sometimes, in the interest of the good for the many, one may be forced to harm the few.
With the "sudden" apparent decline in Trump's mental capacity, evidenced by his staff's statements, your own ears when you listen to him, his dwindling hours in public view, and Trump's own statements to staff that his greatest fear is being assassinated by poison, questions in my mind have been raised.

Is it possible that Trump has been slowly poisoned... one coke at a time? Will he be removed from office on a stretcher when he finally collapses in a coma? Is this the "contingency plan" that the FBI was internally referring to?

If so it stands as a good morality lesson for future generations. No man is untouchable no matter how high his office is.

The pressures of the office have worn heavily on far stronger and smarter men than he.

There is nothing 'sudden' about Trump's apparent mental decline. At a slightly more rapid pace than that of a glacier melting, more are noticing and acknowledging his mental unfitness for office.

What part of his personality is unlike that of the past 10 years? He made grand promises on the Obama birth certificate. His policy ideas were undefined in his campaign. We haven't seen a man decline in office, but a man that hasn't risen to the role he was elected for, a roll he never truly wanted.

Exemplified in the book, and echoed by others, is that over just the past few months his "symptoms" of mental decline have accelerated. One recurring example (from many multiple people) is that he went from repeating himself a lot to repeating himself constantly.
Another recent change is in his meeting schedule... He simply isn't being "allowed" to appear publically without careful handling.... it had been compared to how Nancy Regan started finishing Ronald's sentences for him when his decline took a sharp turn.

He hadn't before recently slurred his words - he was used to being on TV and speaking clearly (if not moronically)... and now he messes his words up from time to time.

Simply put, this job sucks. You see it by the wear it took on Obama and W. And this guy is completely out of his realm and it is hard to put him in any position where he belongs. Sure, maybe he has a tumahhh, but the reality is, we all knew Trump wasn't up for this... not even in the slightest and remote sense of the word. The best that could have been hoped was he managed things well, but as we continue learning, he is the worst type of manager, a guy that likes chaos, which leads to people getting out their tongues and... well... we really don't need to go there, do we?

So it shouldn't be a surprise that he appears to be out of touch, incapable of handling any minor tasks, requires so much "executive time", doesn't read (too vain for glasses), because we knew this is what would happen. They don't let him out because his knowledge on so many things is so shallow, it'd make Sanders' job even harder, to explain everything else that he would say that shows a disturbing lack of knowledge.

I want to really hit this point home, because otherwise, it sounds like paranoia and conspiracy theories to say the Admin is shielding Trump without the context that we knew Trump would need it from the get go.

Yes. I see and agree with all that... it would take its toll... now, ON TOP of all that, it seems like something else is amiss.

The difference in Obama's appearance from his first to his last year in office is plane to see. That's 8 years of aging. Trump looks and acts a whole lot worse now than 3 months ago, it seems.

Obama wasn't a complete fool that was unbelievably over his head. Despite being a relative newb to politics, Obama still had lots of Government experience, and a political machine around him. Trump makes Obama look like George HW Bush with regards to US government service, and has almost no machine around him to get things done. Trump is getting crushed by the job.

What's changed is not his mental state, but their ability to conceal it.

^^^ that

I don't think Trump experiences pressure, just rage as usual. Things that would be pressure to a normal human are, to Cheato, just plot twists that have to be re-written before the next exciting episode of "As The Trump Turns" goes to air.

I'd say Trump had a feeling of invincibility until the Mueller investigation, and when the world started reflecting his idiocy back at him.

Now he has nowhere to hide his incompetence and it's making him even less stable.

What kind of President would chance a public, open to all media, bipartisan conference discussing the controversial issue of the day? Man, Trump is some kind of crazy. Or a stable genius. :)

Yeah, the same guy that broadcasted his cabinet giving him vocal fellatio.

Yes, but in this particular case he looks much less insane.

Ya sure, until you listen to what he actually says. Looking presidential to him seems to mean agreeing with whatever anyone says, regardless of the fact that all those things with which he "agrees" are contradictory. Any given 30-second excerpt looks okay on its own, but the larger picture reveals a vacuous empty suit role-player who is simply mouthing words for instant approval, and never stating any position on anything whatsoever.

Looked less insane? He provided conflicting details as to what is acceptable and wasn't particular on target with his demands. He has shown little interest in developing policy, so this isn't exactly a thumbs up on political competency. This was an operation of distraction from the book.

It's also possible that he's NO LONGER being 'poisoned.'

Maybe Kelly controlling access to the Oval Office means that someone on the staff is not able to smuggle in the Adderall or whatever was keeping him stable? Or he was worried about the press finding out what he was taking, so he stopped....
